Possible way to lessen scammers

I wouldn't mind it if the mods and admins saw my whole drivers license. That way they can do what is needed "if" I scam (I never will though) this idea will work. The whole thing may be overwhelming at first but it is a great idea. And for all the scared people it is completely optional. You don't have to do it if you are uncomfortable with it.

 

Well, first off it is no mandatory so I have no idea why you are complaining. Secondly, this can help ban evaders; getting the rank can only be done once. Once you are banned, your PayPal/Face/Name is now tarnished that you can no longer go to Sythe and apply for the Verified rank anymore. Not saying that this is significant, but that is one more hurdle scammers will have. Finally, as n4no said before; assuming I have the verified rank and I charge back to one of my customers and said person files a scam report which turns out to be legit; showing PP just basic information gives the likelyhood of winning that chargeback all that much easier (granted it is not 100%, however it is no longer 0%).

I don't see why the people opposed are worried about their identity being stolen with only a picture and name showing. Seems to me like you guys would be terrified of Facebook.

Scared about a scammer getting murdered? Bet you didn't know it isn't hard to track someones exact GPS through a cell phone. Whenever somebody prank calls me I usually just send them a picture of their house and they stop calling.

 

I dont support this, I do not want people knowing who i am and who my friends are. This gives stalkers a easier way to stalk

Its a good idea but in my opinion it might be too late for it. There's probably about 2k people in the markets and imagine all of them pming an admin about getting their verified ranks.

Also when it comes to charge backs normally paypal is involved, I don't see why people don't use playerauction since it confirms identity anyways. Also this doesn't stop charge backs. What happens if a user sends fake information to an admin and scams on multiple stolen accounts?

Also if it was a image such as the donator and mod below your name, I'm pretty sure this would add unnecessary trust such as the Community assistant one where people automatically assumed the member was trusted because of the "image" below their name.

Also this is a pretty big reason as to why I'm against this.

I support this as long as you make sure people aren't sending in fake information and so long as only admins and mods can see the info. And not much can be done with a name so dont get extremely concerned about privacy

 

This could be helpful, however it could turn into a form of PlayerAuctions were after $200 a lot of people just stop using it.
