Surely if you're setting up a gold farming type business, then you'll be wanting to earn money... spending 1000$+ on a computer just to run the bots on seems a bit pointless when you take into consideration the time it'd take to make that back...

If you're using this computer specifically for botting, I would install Linux, its a more reliable OS than windows for botting. I bot windows often, but my Linux bots always run more smoothly.

AMD Bulldozer coming soon and so is Ivy Bridge from Intel.
I'd suggest you wait and buy Sandy Bridge when the prices go down IF Bulldozer is what the ES (Engineering samples) are showing.

And btw, you don't pay for the name if you buy Intel, you pay for processing power, which in most games can provide you up to double the frames compared to AMD Phenom.

But since you're building a computer for goldfarming, your only choice is i7 2500k with this budget (or 2600k if you can afford.)

Wait, why don't you rent a server? you realize you need a really good internet speed to be able to bot multiple accounts?.

Please don't just post a few words to get +1 to your p/c

Because renting a server in the long run would be worse, than buying a decent pc.

Oh i see then you're planning on using sorc garden bots which are the ones that will only get you good profit if you don't have any monthly spendings...

I'll suggest you get a couple of 60+ woodcutters and buy autohardwoodgrove and run them in a server, trust me you it's worth it.

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far, I've learnt quite a bit about realistically what I need, and what Is completely unnecessary.

What kinda gp/hour is that arashi? I wouldn't be doing sorc garden because of the ban rates.

Depends on your woodcutting level, all my woodcutters are 80+ they all make at least 200K per hour 400k max, it's never steady i don't know why, but it's way better than sorc garden. Oh and also you get 40K exp per hour which is pretty dam good.

What do you think of this build? http://tinypic.com/r/fncx8l/7

If you take out the mouse and keyboard it's like £260 shipped (may be more for shipping where you are). This build should also be able to handle ~15 bots

I might be blind today but I think you forgot to figure in ram. You're better off going for a amd six core. You could go real cheap and figure in ram for the same price as above and go with a quad core black edition amd.

Just a heads up, but graphics card isn't going to matter for runescape botting. Also, in terms of processor, you could probably get an AMD Phenom x6 for far cheaper than the i7 in that build. It also has two additional cores which would be greatly beneficial while botting because each bot will require it's own thread.
With decent cooling, you can OC it to ~4 GHz and at that point it should be on par with the i7, while saving a ton of money.

I actually just ordered a new botting computer just a bit over 310 pounds. I know you said thread closed, but I thought this information might be helpful to you and help you save a lot of money. I can pm you the build if you would like.

Probably not worth it if its only for botting, but if you want to use it for other purposes as well, go for it.
If you do decide to do it, put together your own computer (I would recommend Newegg or TigerDirect, not sure how much shipping overseas is though). Don't get a laptop for this. Frankly, its a stupid idea, given how much more you have to pay for generally less than equivelant performance. Focus on the cpu and RAM. I would recommend the i5-2500k. The i7-2600k isn't really much faster, and doesn't overclock any better. You could also look into AMD's Phenom. It has 6 cores, and the overall clock speed might be a bit faster. It's not as good for gaming, but might be better for botting. I would recommend 16GB of RAM - that should be enough for 25-30 bots, depending on the bots (which is most likely more than the cpu can handle).
As long as your building a rig like this, you might consider running a bitcoin mining program on it as well (google for more information). It primarily uses your graphics card, so it wouldn't interfere with the bots. With my 5770, I can make ~$1 a day at it, and if you invest a bit more in a graphics card, you could probably make more (depending on bitcoin prices). Having a graphics card would also let game if you wanted to, and give the computer a purpose other than botting. You should be able to build something like this for well under your budget.

Edit: should have read the second page (facepalm), but my advice still stands.

I would personally go for a VPS - You can rent 10GB of RAM + enough processor power to run 16+ bots for $99.9 per month. If you see the thread http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=9285255 for some more information.

    Also see:

    Master: 5GB - $49.95 / 58M
    Run 12x GOP = 1.2M per hour
    1.2M x 24 = 28.8M per day
    28.8M x 30 = 864M per month

    864M - 111M = 753M Profit
    864M @ 0.45 = $388.8 - $338.85 Profit

Those figures are using GOP and our 5GB package, 2x if you bought 2 of those packages.
