    You've never spoken to me.
Nor have you taken the time to even type out my bloody name.

Get your facts straight and leave this in the RaS where it belongs and is being worked on.

Let's listen to this statement. The staff are capable of handing this particular issue fairly, so we should just let them decide what is right in this one instance. I feel we've done our part in bringing forth attention to some details that apply to all account trades, but that's probably where our participation should end. There's no reason to let this one scam report cause a big huge flame war between folks...

Thank you. I do not see why the scam report has been open for so long, on such an obvious outcome/answer. Pay back or be banned. It's that fucking simple.
You sell something, and the person who bought it, doesn't have access to it anymore from a recovery not made by the buyer. You're at fault.

    1. Case wasnt closed, I understood that he was going to have to be either closed with a compromise or a full refund, I just stated my view.
    2. From what I understand, the recovery system has changed.. there is no way to secure an account any longer, especially when emails are involved.
    3. If i had lost a name, I'd try my hardest to get it back and not just sit there and lie to someone who was trying to help me
    4. N/A
    5. Then Para knew the risks in being an account that could never be secured, too.

Posting again, because thinking about it, the case is still open and not reviewable by someone who isnt involved. Especially when you're lacking information about said case.

    Closed.

    Lol? How immature?

Changing one's mind after consideration is not only professional but prudent and advised.

My personal stance on this issue is that Yaroow ought to refund the user in question.

    My mistake.

Still, if you are selling an account that you did not create (which isn't a good idea to begin with), then you assume all responsibility for it's possible recovery.

    Bullshit

I have been in buying/selling accounts for quite a few years, but i stopped last year. Let me just explain one situation of a particular account I bought:

    - I bought the account.
    - He went first (Let me do recovery test first)
    - First 3 tests failed, 4th one worked.
    - I had the account about 2 years.
    - I had recovered it / unlocked it about 10 times within these 2 years to be sure the account was fine.
    - When he recovered it, it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to recover.

    This is how it works:

    - I told jagex I moved home. So they thought i was the original owner.
    - Once the original owner recovers, they realise i possibly hacked the original owner's information, and infact he never did move home. Therefore I won't ever be able to recover.

So now, Yaroow/Paranormal won't ever be able to recover it as the REAL owner has recovered.

Additionally, You should be liable for what you sell.

To Karl: Yaroow should know the risks of selling the account, just as you're saying paranormal knew the risks of buying it. It works both ways

Hence why I know that Yaroow will have to pay for it, but I dont think it should be full price.

To note: x Paranormal x has failed to contact Yaroow since he submitted the Scam Report.

Well I think Yarow / paranormal should at least talk before the mods even look at the report, they might even work something out.

I think what CSkiffingt1 posted is reasonable.
Half of the thread is going into an argument, don't that's a good idea for people to see publicly.

My advice is to discuss this in Staff lounge and lock this thread before it goes any further into argument.

Agreed. People who are afraid to change their mind, due to ramifications such as hhn's reaction, are weak leaders. I am impressed that you are so prepared to change your mind and meet the criticism with a cool head and in a professional manner.

From the limited amount I read of the spam report, I too agree that Yaroow should refund 100%, as it is a sythe.org policy.

It is reasonable. While rules are set, some should be taken on a case by case basis, and in this case, the buyer admits to not taking ANY security precautions.

While I would usually agree that the seller is always 100% responsible for what he sells, this case is different, as stated above, the buyer took 0 security precautions and thus it shouldn't be 100% the sellers problem.

Not to mention, it isn't even proven that the original owner even recovered it, or if it was recovered in the first place and not phished/keylogged.
