As the title says, require all Autographs to be authenticated before being sold (Applies mainly for the Non-Virtual Section)

For example, the poster of this topic [here] refuses to get his Kobe Bryant + Vince Carter picture authenticated, but is asking for 400m+? For all we know he could have bought an 8.5 x 11 picture of the two and scribbled on it with permanent marker.

I support this, I feel like it could potentially be a big scam for people. However I think alls sales of autographs should be banned because its to risking even if they were supposedly authenticated.

How would a moderator authenticate an autographed item?

Or you can bring it in to any reputable sports store and get it authenticated there as well

    ... Really? That's a little harsh.

I support this notion. It's only fair. Surely there must be a law regarding this, too.

He's asking for 400m+ and doesn't want to authenticate the signatures. There's a lot of evidence proposing that those signatures are fake, so I had to ban him. It's basically scamming, giving him RSGP for fake signatures when they payed for and wanted the real signatures.

Lets just handle this on a case by case basis instead of making more restrictions or rules.

I extremely agree with x339. I feel it should be banned completely. It is too risky confirming if it is real or fake.

Support. If you're wanting to sell something with a decent value you should be more then happy to make all the necessary means to prove the item you have is real/authentic. It's the same as selling a Partyhat you have to post your Sythe name in the screeny with the high valued item to authenticate that this is you and the item is real. Ive seen so many people try to use pictures off Google or private servers. With a keen eye and a bit of savvy fakes are generally easy to spot. Especially for experienced traders. So why not make proper expectations/Guidelines for something of this nature.

Edit: The way i can foresee this properly being handled is if someone were to middleman for this type of thing that lives close to or knows an authticator that can check the validity of the item being purchased. Even for a small nominal fee it i think it's more then fair.

A moderator wouldn't do it, a legitimate company would.

I support this, it's a good idea and people could really get ripped off if a counterfeit was purchased.

I support this. If there are a lot of autographs then I don't see why not as this is what you would want if you bought a autograph irl

Alright, just report threads without authenticated autographs, we'll handle them, thanks.
