Tonsillitis? - Anyone ever have it before?

Recently I went to my doctor, and was checked for many and many of things. They later(The next day) had done a throat swab, and then later on went to find out I had tonsillitis. I've had tonsillitis, since the beginning of last week(monday). Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of this week, I felt much better, and felt like my throat was back to normal. Now this morning when I woke up, I can feel it coming back again. I'm just wondering if anyone else here on sythe, has had this, and if so can you explain on what happened to you? Would appreciate it much, as this is a pain for me.

 

I had it and got it removed when I was in first grade, so I really don't remember much. According to my parents, it caused me to kick a lot when I slept. They assumed it was because it was possibly blocking my air way. It was really swollen and you could easily see it when I opened my mouth. That part I remember for sure. It never bothered me when I was awake though. Once it was removed it was pretty painful to swallow. I even refused the popsicle they offered when I woke up. It was really annoying not being able to do any physical activity either, especially during recess.

All I really can remember is what happened after surgery. Sorry I can't be much help. Are you getting it removed? I heard they're a little more hesitant about removing it now.

 

My brother two years ago had really bad tonsillitis, and was out of school for almost 3 weeks. Then it would come back in small little sicknesses, and then months ago he got really sick again. He is getting his tonsils out on the 27th, he said it hurt and was such a pain it wasn't worth it to keep em.

 

Yeah most likely, i'll end up getting them removed, due to having this for the 2nd time now. They said, if it was to come back, they would schedule me for a removal.
