My new gaming rig. How'd I do?

I've pieced together and managed stable overclocks on my new gaming build. How did I do?

Well thought out and chosen build! Woulda went with a 60gig SSD TBH though, besides that 9/10
Clean up your cables man.

 

I suck at cable manage, that's as neat as I could get it.

And the SSD was only $20, I couldn't pass it up.

 

Looks like something I woulda built. I like that GTX 580.

 

Yeah, the GTX 580 is quite amazing. I went from an 8800GT to this. I had a mindgasm.

 

/me wonders where you got your OS.

 

My father works for AP, they give him/his family 3-5 free copies of every new OS.

 

How much did that cost? I've been considering building something similar.

 

For all of it, including the peripherals, right around $2000.

 

Where are you from and where'd you buy it $2k seems a tad expensive.

OP what's your CPU clocked at, 4.5 or high I hope?

 

You could've gotten an Intel i7. Nice job though.

 

Why did you buy the deathadder? The naga is only a tiny, tiny bit more expensive and it's a much better choice imo

 

Aren't IPS panels not very good for gaming? IE really bad response times?

 

I have an HD5970 in mine that's epic. Haven't worked with any of the new Nvidia's yet. But looks good overall.

 

i7 2600k provide next to no performance boost in gaming.

IPS's are fine, the response time isn't really a big deal. that's why people game with the u3011 and u2711 a lot.

5970 is a strong card when CFX is active in games, otherwise it is quite screwed haha

 

The i7 2600K actually results in a loss of performance for some games because of the Hyperthreading.

As for IPS panels, response times are kind of worthless these days when it comes to monitors unless it's a really bullshit high amount.

I got the DeathAdder because it fits my hand better.
