Acne: The solution to your problems.

Well, as I had suffered from Acne for several of my younger years, and knowing how devastatingly horrible it made me feel at a younger age, I have decided to help out those who suffer from it, from my experiences. NOTE: I am NOT a professional by any means, and if your problem gets ANY worse or you think it may be too severe for this, please consult a licensed doctor.

First of all, Let's start by showing you what following these steps can do:

    Before:

    After:

As you can see, it cleared my face entirely and I have not had a problem with it since, as long as I continue to stay healthy...

I will break this down into several simple steps, and make it easy to follow...

    Step 1: Eating right:
Well, sadly enough, here in America, 90% of us do NOT eat how we should. Stuffing down greasy fattening foods constantly is not healthy for your skin. It will make your skin oily and greasy, leading to less cleanliness and overall, poor skin quality, which is a major cause of Acne. Try not to eat acidic or greasy foods, stick to fruits/vegatables/healthier meats such as BAKED chicken, or BAKED fish. Fried foods = bad.

    Step 2: Be active:
Sorry to say it, but your skin will most likely not clear up sitting in front of a laptop 12 hours a day... The sun helps to cleanse your skin. Ever hear of sweating? Yes, it opens your pores up, releasing toxins from your body, as well as getting rid of a lot of the grease and oils your body has trapped up in your skin. I usually go jogging for about 4 - 5 miles a day, but that much is NOT needed, simply jog a lap around a track or two, or maybe go outside and play a game of backyard football, whatever you like to do, do it outside, in the sun, and try to break a sweat, as it is good for the skin.

    Step 3: Cleansing the Skin:
Well after all that sweating, letting it dry to your body is NOT good, GO SHOWER. But there is a key to this. Controlling your pores is very easily done and can make a great deal of difference. Start with a hotter than normal shower, as the heat opens up your pores and allows you to really clean the skin. Scrub thoroughly, and start to rinse with warm water, NOT HOT. Once rinsed off, stay in the shower an slowly decrease the temperature to colder water, as cold as you can get it without freezing. This will close your pores so that when you get out into the open air, dust and dirt do not instantly clog your freshly cleaned pores.

    Step 4: Medications:
Well as many have probably tried, medications DO work, but the key is how you use them! I tried TONS of medical prescriptions, and all of them seemed to do nothing, I did not figure out until later it was how I was using them that really affected it. After a nice clean shower, apply the medicine, and then do something calm. Sweating and over heating will cause the medicine to either water itself down, or you will sweat it off. Leave it on as much as you can during the day until you wash your face again, and then re-apply, and during the night, just before you sleep, put some on and go to bed with it, let it work over night as your skin reacts differently while you are asleep than it does while you are awake, this has been proven by medical doctors. Also there is less of a chance you will touch your face or disturb the medicine during the night if you are sleeping.

    Step 5: Staying Clean:
Well showing once a day is enough to clear you up eventually, but for best results, I would suggest washing your face in between showers. I try to wash my face 2 - 3 times a day, besides my shower. Usually Once in the morning, once around noon, and once later that day, before my shower at night. Be sure to wash and rinse thoroughly though, as leaving soap on the face can lessen the effects of the medicine, try to get your face completely rinsed off and clean.

Hope this has helped some of the fellow Sythe members. For any further info or help, contact me via msn: [email protected]

Acne: The solution to your problems.

Do NOT scrub your face at all. Scrubbing your face exacerbates acne exponentially due to the unnecessary and destructive irritation it causes. It is a known fact that more irritation leads to more acne.

Eating is a partial contributor to acne, the more acidic foods you eat, the more acne prone you are; getting the right nutrients is cardinal for healthy skin. Sweating is indeed good, exercise is a great way to relieve stress, thus alleviating common acne causing problems, though, make sure to wipe off your sweat carefully as you don't want the toxins seeping back into your skin.

You shouldn't over cleanse your skin. Cleansing your skin more than twice a day produces excessive irritation. Acne is not caused by dirt, it is caused by your overactive sebaceous glands, as such, no matter how much you clean your skin, if your oil glands are producing, then you cannot stop that.

Medication works for some people, though, some medication can have irreversible side effects.

The key to get ridding acne is as follows:

Make sure to cleanse your face with a non comodegenic foam cleanser. It is advisable to ensure your products do not have Salycic acid [because it will over irritate your skin (see below)], or anycomodegenic products.

Purchase some Benzoyl Peroxide, 2.5%. Apply this to your face everyday twice a day, morning and night after you cleanse your skin. Benzoyl peroxide aids in stopping the overproduction of the sebaceous glands, though, it may dry out your skin completely, and make it look slightly worse in the first week. Use your own discretion as to the quantity, suffice to say, gradually increase the dosage.

Purchase a non-comodegenic moisturizing cream. Ensure it has no comodegenic properties. Also, purchase some Jojoba oil. This oil is the closest oil that has been found to replicate the oil produced by your sebaceous glands. How it works is still somewhat puzzling, though, it's hypothesized that it deceives the body into think oil is already on the face, and thus, your sebaceous glands do not produce much if any oil.

Combine the above twice a day with a good diet based on non-acidic nutrient enriched food, and exercise every so often, perhaps 2-3 times a week.

I know, I was just letting people know to never scrub their face, as that exacerbates acne exponentially.

Acne: The solution to your problems.

Thank you for this thread, it will help me out with my acne (though I have little). I didn't know sweating opened the pores, so thanks for the lesson. ;)
