Legalize Marijuana?

I am against. As well I really dislike the argument that the people for it are trying to make 'It's less harmful than alcohol'
We're not talking about alcohol, they're two separate things. Just because one substance is legal is not a reason to make another one legal and that is not a legitimate argument.

 

If your against it, your ignorance on the subject prevails. The simple fact is that it's not harmful.

 

Even then, compared to other legal drugs (which usually have more risks than anything), marijuana is safe. The issue is not if its harmful, but supposed psychological issues it might bring up. Seems like you're simply closed minded and are too stubborn to admit truths.

 

The point is if Alcohol that kills so many people yearly can be legal why Cannabis cannot be legal?

There's so much proof Cannabis isn't harmful.

This is a legitimate argument. Not only will it stop Mexican cartels, and dangerous drug lords, but it will bring billions of dollars for the U.S.A. That's all, I respect everyone's opinion.

 

Actually, because one substance is legal then if another substance is much less harmful it should be legal.

It makes sense, Alcohol was made legal because although it has bad effects it's impossible to control. Same with marijuana, kids can get marijuana easier then Alcohol.

Thus, legalize it so young children will have a harder time getting it and at the same time prevent many arrests in the United States.

 

Not true. A proper argument should not be this drug is less harmful than this one, but it is legal so this one should be too.
Also, kids could still get it the same way if the legalized it, wouldn't be hard. Alcohol is legal and it's not hard to get it, why would marijuana be any different?

 

this says it all. i agree with the first part that buying it from a licensed vendor would be alot better then some drug dealers that could have put anything in it

 

Marijuana helps people with certain medical problems.
It's not as addictive as alcohol & cigarettes. I would say legalize, but heavily tax it, so the government could put the money back into poor communities.
It's referred to as a gateway for other drugs... If you legalised it, you wouldn't buy from criminals, but legitimate people, I think that would ultimately stop it being condoled.

 

Legalize with a reasonable tax, being a stoner myself, I wouldn't pay more than $30 for a half-eighth which is equivalent to 1.75 grams. Street price for a half-eighth is $25 I've rarely payed $30 and gotten it for as cheap as, well, free. And generally a half-eighth last 30 minutes to an hour - not the high, but the whole product... (if that - and this is for me personally) I wouldn't pay $35 for 1.75g's EVER never have and never will (This includes a 20 mile delivery drive from the "hook-up" to my doorstep, which usually is priced normally or on occasion an additional $5 to the originating price of $25 due to time/gas taken for delivery.)

IN CONCLUSION: Legalize it, throw a $5 tax on every sack, no matter the size, blaze a joint and happy 4:20! yaddy yaddy yadda... and so on an so forth... etc. etc. etc. Happily ever after - THE END!

What will happen if this is the scenario. Think about it. Ok so the Mexican/Colombian drug cartels make over 80% of their money from selling TetraHydroCannibol. Simply because it is the most common drug around teenagers because it's "safe." So having everyone buy cannabis from the store will force the drug cartels to find another way to make their money. Which will increase the production and distribution of other drugs such as cocaine,opiates,benzodiazepines. With increased production of these drugs, the cartel will do anything to get get people to buy that stuff. And if they were able to get people into pot, what will stop them from making people take these other drugs? The drug cartels were able to get over 3 generations into cannabis without it being physically addictive, and any other drug they distribute is STRONGLY physically ADDICTIVE. And what you gotta think about is that the Mexican drug cartels are very well connected and are as powerful as Al-Qaida or the CIA. We really have no idea what they're capable of. For all you know they could start working with Disney/MTV and start getting people hooked on cocaine/opiates using subliminal messages, which is what has gotten over 5 generations of Americans addicted to cigarettes.
So just think about it. There will just be more crackheads/junkies after they distribute more drugs and of course, use your common sense. More FUCKING crime.

ANOTHER REASON WHY THEY WON'T LEGALIZE IT:
Yea you're thinking they'll make tons of cash from taxing it, but they make more cash by sending people to jail/court for a joint. And since THC is a weed, it is fucking easy to grow, so no one will buy it from the store, they'll have their own plant. And well Marlboro will start making joints and they will blasphemyze the weed by adding tobacco to it. The companies won't be able to keep it pure.

There exists no scientific evidence whatsoever that suggests that marijuana has any harmful lasting effects. Until a credible study emerges that suggests marijuana is detrimental to one's health, it should, uncontroversially, be legal.

All jokes aside, I personally use marijuana for recreational a good bit of time. But, if theres 100 something Add kids all running around on speed, you gotta get mellow sometime.. And if all them add kids used it for medical/ Receational at times.. I think its a good idea.

 

You sir, are a dumbass. There is noone more nice than a guy high as shit. I personally have had a large amount of experiences with this drug. I enjoy it but it has its time when it needs to be put away. Some people say its unhealthy, but did you know that 1 joint has the same amount of carcinogens as 1 cup of coffee? It has been known for years as it has healing/curing powers. If the government were to legalize this, they would generate over 1 Billion dollars in revenue per year, or 1 Quadrillion RSGP for you jackasses that I know are already thinking of this. I am 100% for this as long as the people that choose to do this know what they're getting themselves into. I have a response for every arguement for this, try me.
