Where were you when I first started watching MMA?

Watching friends spar, my friend took a nasty knee to the head after I told him to shoot for the double. Getting my friend's forehead busted + his psycho mother = double FAIL.

If you time it right/rock them first you can do single leg takedowns/throws.
I'd say Judo in combination with Kickboxing is the most effective in hand-to-hand street fights.

I agree with you. Or a chuck Liddell type. Or Brock Lesnar.
If you shoot for the double with someone that knows what there doing it could be bad on concrete.
Btw, Phil Davis pulled out of Rashad fight. There trying to get Machida to fill it!!!
    Terrible news for Rashad.

Damn, Looks like Rashad's chances of a title shot is getting mar'd again. Im sure Rashad's gameplan will change defintely, but Machida's got great TTD does have the mental impact. After all, Rashad's famous KO'd face is all over the Internets.

Pretty much what im getting at. Greco Roman/Judo throws and slams are the most useful in a streetfight. Single legs and doubles by an inexperienced person just calls for a guillotine choke or a knee.

I also would like to add in a variation of MuayThai will be effective as well. Adding some of those Knees and Elbows if your up close at your opponent is crucial.

Yeah, using throws and slams in a street fight is like Rampage slamming Arona - game over. I've almost never seen a fight lost after the person managed to throw/slam someone in a street fight. MT is definitely my striking style of choice as it mixes in those knees and elbows.Oh and the very under utilized (sometimes for good reason) head butts. I see so many fights that could've been won or at least finished much easier/earlier if they'd use those.

One thing I'd like to learn to deal with if any of you could shoot me some ideas, what should I do if someone who's bigger/stronger/longer reach than me just starts swinging a barrage of heymakers my way in a streetfight? They're not timed or anything special - just a ton of wild heymakers and pushing forward. This is how the majority of 'average' people fight and many get lucky tagging the other person - I've tried multiple ways with varying success in dealing with it in fights but I'd like to stick to the most optimal way and perfect it.

If someones bigger or stronger and are slinging wild haymakers, duck and shoot to get him to the ground. 99% of wildhaymakers are aimed for the head and 99% of the time they are offbalanced. Once they are on the ground, whether they are stronger or not, if they are throwing wild haymakers, chances tell me that they dont have great jiujutsu or cardio.

I do NOT suggest backpedaling, if you've seen Vitor vs Wanderlei, you'll know that its faster moving forward then backwards. unless your Anderson Silva, backpedaling just calls for him to land 1/20 of his haymakers and that could mean lights out if hes really strong.

Another suggestion is to use your legs, if hes moving forward and throwing his bombs, chances tell me he inst defending, a swift muay thai headkick would knock his head off easily.

Also if the dudes your size, clinching would be optimal, however if hes a 7 foot tall black guy, clinching him would be pointless unless you have quick reflexes.

I also would like to add that streetfights should only be fought if you HAVE to.

Yeah most street fights end the way Vitor vs Wanderlei did unless the person ended up with a lucky counter. The thing about ducking and shooting is that they could easily bring a knee up with little force and hurt you a lot but I know if I actually take them down and wind up in a scramble or on top I'll pretty much finish the fight. It's kinda hard to clinch someone that's throwing those already.

Headmovement and nitpicking loopholes to counter a la Anderson Silva I can't (as I'm sure most of the world can't) and my jaw is closer to glass than granite.

I'm mostly asking as I tend to end up in a lot of fights I don't start. I like to think of myself as just that average kid - the one many seem to want to beat up to gain some sort of meaningless reputation. I'm not big as to think they'd lose and not small as to make them look like a bully. I'm very mellow and known to have fought with a mostly favourable record against many of the wannabe gangsta/tough guy bullies (which everyone including myself mostly discard as luck). My reaction to aggression is to downplay it with humour which seems to incense them even more. I'm not about to run - simply isn't in me unless I'll be killed or maimed.

Elbows yes, knees not so much unless you in a clinch. Flying knees are just as bad as double legs.
If a guy is throwing just haymakers, that is when you could shoot for a double. He would not be ready for it. That is how most people do it. Maybe put him in a clinch b/c he would not be ready for it either.
Also leg kicks will slow them down tremendously. Getting them to the ground would screw them most likely though.
I'm with you. Grow a beard, it will make you look like you have a granite chin :p
Mine is average, I have been hit a few times hard in the jaw and not been KO'd, so I am lucky. It also depends on how fast they are throwing them too, if a guy is just looping them, shoot in the middle of one, but if they are fast and precise, body clinch them and try a judo throw/trip.
    Kicks are always nice.

The Tito bandwagon is enormous right now. I am in it of course!. He most likely wont win, but i sure as hell want him to.

Imagine just a few months back hes almost guaranteed to be fired, an now all of a sudden he could be in title contention? Damn, Tito is bi-winning like Charlie Sheen right now.

    WAR TITO!

I know, I don't like Rashad, and I think Davis would have beat him.
Rashad will most likely win, but Tito won the first time they fought point deduction or not.
