    Brown Rice.

Seriously, a question about brown rice. I've been trying to eat healthier, since going to the gym 7 days a week is a waste if you don't have the proper diet to go along with it (5 days of lifting/cardio and 2 days of straight up cardio, don't worry, I'm not overtraining lol).

One of the staples of my diet is rice, as I'm Brazilian, so rice/beans/meat (chicken/beef/ground beef/ground turkey/etc) is something I could eat pretty much every day. However, white rice has practically no nutritional value, so I'm going to start buying brown rice.

The problem is.. I always hear people saying that brown rice has tons of fiber, but I haven't found that to be the case when I go to the grocery store. The most fiber I've found in brown rice is like 3g per serving.. which is nothing. The 2 slices of bread I had for breakfast had 10g of fiber (and 8g of protein), so I'd rather eat that bread than brown rice.

Am I just not looking for the right brand of rice? Or is this small amount of fiber normal for brown rice?

I haven't touched white bread in the longest time.. I stick to multigrain bread mostly. I'm happy about this bread that I've been eating lately (Arnold Heathfull 10 Grain Bread).

As for the couscous, I'd rather eat a whole grain, such as quinoa instead, I'm not a big fan of couscous, and the massive amount of cards/nonexistent fiber scares me off.

I appreciate the reply, although it didn't really answer my question about brown rice.

It's always going to be a small amount of fiber with rice. Try eating fruits like apples to obtain fiber.

Contrary to popular belief, white rice has nearly as much nutrients as brown rice does.
