Require OMM's to list phone number/or secret phrase (to staff)

I think due to all of the recent Sythe account & MSN compromises it would be a good idea for OMM's to list their phone number for staff to have readily available in-case the community notices something suspicious.

Then a member of staff could call them to verify it is them on their account; or possibly have a secret phrase that they can give to staff if any suspicion arises.

Not a bad idea. Not 100% neccisary, but still wouldn't hurt.

 

Just one thing though, some might be uncomfortable putting their phone numbers on a website.. But it's a good idea

 

I don't see how this would help in any way.

If there is any suspicion that an OMM is hacked, particularly when supported by an IP change, their Sythe account would be temp banned until the issue could be sorted. It is relatively easy to verify the identity of an OMM even without a pass phrase, given that a user has to be fairly integrated into the community in order to get their application through in the first place.

 

I agree with Sin666, it's not that necessary when mods can just ban them and some people don't like giving that.

 

If we talk to them on msn for 1 minute we can usually tell right away....

 

No support. What if other staff isnt online to call them?

Although since I just got scammed 415m by Punkerpunk13's hacker, I would support some kind of ip system that detects how long ago ip has been changed. I think grave suggested it.

 

No support. People have a right to their own privacy, and as previously said, their are other means of identification through less intrusive measures.

 

I don't think it's that difficult for staff to distinguish a hacker.
