Jagex 'Super Hyper Mega Secret'?

Mod Azraphel just replied to a kid raging about all the bots, Apparently Jagex have a little thing going on that we don't know about.

I hate wanna be mods. Honestly, I think they'll get rid of "some" bots, but not all with however much income they are making.

 

The super secret thing is that they don't ban people because they want more money.

 

I somewhat hope that they are able to eliminate most of the bots. Imagine what would happen to the game and the blackmarket.
- Price of GP rises (practically mostly everything will)
- Game will be actually "fun" (skilling, etc)

 

This, plus they dont have the time, resources, or man power to combat it.

However they cant just say "hey guys we cant beat RWT or botting so go ahead and do it", so of course they always claim they have something in the works. They have made that claim for years, yet RWT/botting is thriving.

 

What the super mega secrets they've had for the past 9 years regarding their "macro detection system" aka player reports? haha?

I think everyone here knows that without bots, Runescape is dead, and Jagex know this too. Why do you think they have progressively got less harsh on botting punishments? Look after any update, the amount of players goes from 220k to 50k.

Without bots, this game is dead and won't be financially viable, that's why they are getting as much money as possible now with, temp bans, roll backs, buying back banned accounts, members royalty system etc.

 

I honestly hope they are stricter on botting. I myself bot, but I bot carefully. Those who bot 24/7 and ruin the economy by botting things such as fishing or mining and selling the goods in the Grand Exchange for extremely cheap deserve to be banned. I only bot combat, and rarely even pick up drops.

 

Exactly. How many J-Mods do they actually have? IF they honestly cared, they could get quite a bit of bots out, especially the F2p ones and the obviousl ones, such as flax etc.

 

Tbh, who wouldn't pull the same move they're pulling? the point of the whole company is to get money which they are doing... why ruin good money from rolling in? I would've done exactly what they're doing now.

 

i dont see what else they can do to stop bots except for somehow getting bot sites shut down but i dont see that happening

 

Cheaters will always be one step ahead.

 

They have no secret. They just have to tell the legit players that they are going to stop it, however they just want the money.

 

Well it looks like everyones screwed in the future..
Its gonna be like impossible to bot.

and i dont see anything up jagex's sleeves probably because they been saying this shit for too long for us to believe this

 

its extremely retarded to think jagex will remove 30-40% of its player base.

removal of bots would kill runescape in 3 months.

they keep the raw material prices down and feed andrew gower.

 

Eventually, if they can't combat bots and what not. They're just going to remove wild / FT again.

There is no secret, they don't give a crap about bots.
All they care about is the money they're making.

 

They'll probably just ban a ton of the level 3 f2p essence bots and then add up the numbers and say they wiped out "50k botters" but tbh it's not going to effect any p2p or anyone using anything that's not blatantly obvious.
