Online Cable Replacement?

Hi, I'm looking to replace my cable, it is just becoming too expensive. I was gonna see if there are any websites that might have a membership that stream everything cable TV does too. I know that netflix doesn't have a lot of stuff on their stream, so that is out of the question but how is Hulu+? I know they don't have a lot of the shows I watch now but if they are expanding their selection...also what is the downtime between shows airing on cable and when they are uploaded to the site aswell?
