100000000% agree. It takes a lot more time and energy to do even ONE scam report than most people would think. You have to be absolutely sure of your decision before you make it, which means re-reading the evidence (which is oftentimes very poorly compiled) over and over to rule out any other possibilities.

 

I know and appreciate this. My and many's issue over scam reports is that only a few globals are really active in doing them.

 

The staff that do scam reports are staff that want to do them. This ensures that they put their full focus and dedication in to what they do. If we made it compulsory for all globals, they would most likely be poorly judged and rushed.

 

I agree and I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the work of globals who do scam reports daily. My point is that in the past there have been more globals active on the scam reports which lightens the load for the other globals.

 

Verts - Became more community involved. Doesn't usually get the credit she deserves.

 

Verts - I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for everything you have done for me.
In my honest opinion you are not praised enough and I encourage everyone that thinks you do not do enough to reconsider.

Karl - It’s like I got to know another side of you You are an amazing person to talk to and have helped me through the many struggles that I've previously had.

Both of you please do not deny these compliments.

 

Plznate - Wow. The way you maturely handled the situation with Aroxez (mainly in this thread) was really quite phenomenal, kudos to you. I love Aroxez, but he got pretty out of hand, and I'm glad you didn't flame back. Doing great!

I'm not going to list every Mod/Admin's work but who I did see shining was FireZ, he's always filtering the Evaders/Scammers etc.

 

CSkiffingt1 -A really nice guy who has been a good moderator. Althought I haven't seen him as active recently, especially in the RaSp.
Farcast - Very laid back and intelligent guy who handles the work in both the runescape and the market sections. Has been a sectional for a while, maybe it's time for a step up : P
Louis -Nice to see you back. You have handled all my RS reports within minutes of coming online. Acting as a perfect mod right now. Keep it up.
Pokemoners -A good and intelligent guy who has recently done a bunch of reports.
Sacro -It's nice to see you back, I hope your activity returns. However, I haven't seen you that active on the modding side of things yet.
Sengira -Haven't seen you being that active on the modding side of things recently.
RsProd - Does more reports over any other mod while maintaining an unparalleled sense of professionalism and courtesy towards all. Keep up the great work!
Wulfspade1 - A nice guy who handles his section with grace. Also recently getting into the RaSc which is much appreciated due to the amount of reports vs the amount of globals doing them (he should get perms in there )


Clashfan - Handling a fair few of the Global's RaSp, but not as active recently as I've seen him in the past.
Dalpra -On vacation.
FireZ -The official ban hammer. The site would struggle without his unparalleled dedication. Keep up the amazing work!
Giddy -Doing many of the Global's RaSp.
Karl -Very nice guy who goes out of his way to explain things and does his fair share of scam reports/disputes. Great global.
n4n0 -Cool guy who's been doing a ton of the Global's RaSp. Becoming more active again, back to his former status of supermodding.
Plznate -Extremely active member and great guy who is doing well modding, always getting involved in the big issues.


Finn -Great to have in the community both as an administrator and a personality, a truly invaluable part of Sythe.
Matthew -Not as active recently.
SMR -A very nice, helpful, and polite guy. Getting more active in the community recently.
Sythe - Great owner who usually responds to or handles my PMs/ideas/concerns.

This isn't blind feedback; I went through all your last 100 posts. Of course, I don't know how you do behind the scenes, but it would be hard to give feedback on that anyway. Please comment if you feel anything I said was unjust or untrue. I don't have as much on the admins as it's naturally harder to see what they do.

 

Would just like to take a moment to express my gratitute to SMR for capitalizing my username for me. I understand that you guys probably get a lot of these minor requests, and so I appreciate you taking a moment to help me out. Thanks again!

 

Louis, how is it his fault for not checking your msn, but not your fault for not checking his? I'm referring to the 3b scam that took place because YOUR PM WAS VAGUE AS HELL!

Really, Louis, as an OMM for years now, you send pm's without including your msn in the message? Just a simple "talking to you on msn"? This kind of OMMing is actually detrimental to the community, take responsibility for your actions

 

I've been doing this for as long as I can remember and after all these years this is the first time anything of the sort has happened. I thought it was common sense to match msns when trading? I'll include it to avoid future mishaps but I didn't believe Sythe was home to such foolish users.

There should really be a sticky on the matter. The best way to do it is just paste a piece of the actual msn convo into the pm. If they can't bother to realize after reading the pm that they weren't actually talking to you its their own fault.

The ONLY way to do it is have the user/both users PM you first, containing your MSN, their MSN, and the MSN of the person they are trading. You then respond by confirming your MSN and theirs.

Anyone who does not do this or something similiar should really reconsider if they are qualified to wear the rank of OMM.

 

I was defining the scam in general since it doesn't only happen with omm situations. The majority of this scam's occurrence actually happens outside of the MM section and on big gp sellers, which is why there should really be a sticky to outline the scam.

 

This works too. You can also have the traders post on your thread with their MSN/trade amount prior to the OMM PMing with full information.

 

Yes, Vietballer was banned. I think he was unbanned but his rank is under discussion. I fail to see how the Louis situation was any different, though?

Honestly, any market mod who is also an OMM needs to make a sticky in the OMM lounge saying that if you do not include your MSN in the PM, you should get your rank stripped.
