Party hats this, party hats that, who really cares?

So many people are posting about how much they love party hats and how cool they look. Honestly, they aren't that cool looking. I think that people just love them so much because they are valuable. If a phat was worth 1g each, honestly, would you like them as much? Maybe thats just my opinion, but what do you think?

I love partyhats for their look not their price but I think most other people like them for the price and not for their look. Just my opinion.

 

the only reason i can understand is to show off or to have more than max money
then again if i had over max cash id get buyables to 99 or sell it on sythe

 

I only play runescape to pk...I couldn't care less about rares.

They are rare and super valuable. I would love one, just to say I have one. Not becausse it looks cool

 

majority of people that play RS hope to one day get a phat, some make it
their goal to motivate them to keep playing and making cash until they can
afford it, but the price of phats are just inflating at a pretty stupid rate atm,
giving most of those players no hope to ever get one, bots really are taking
over.

 

It's cool having a party hat if you still have good gp left, but i've known people with a party hat and they don't even have a good armour/weapons and they prefer keeping the party instead of buying good armours/weapons and spend some money on skills, ppl who do that are dumb.

 

id rather have an iphone then pixels in my opinion.

id never want a phat ingame, its a waste of money, once i get my basic gear back (bandos ect) ima just sell my excess money on sythe.

 

Well it's true the price makes the item better looking cause everyone wants a billion gp's on their head.

As said above, it's a way to show off your bank & make others jelly.
I prefer a Santa to a phat.

 

I agree, santas have always looked better imo.

 

It's really the sense of accomplishment getting there. I personally earned every gp of the 1 Bil for the yellow that I bought. The value of it to me is how long I spent getting it. 100% RWTers who get them for a few hundred bucks don't see the time spent getting it.

Think of it this way: which is More meaningful, a prom date with the girl of your dreams who you spent months "doin work" on, or a cheap hooker you hired to go with you?

 

Most people probably share your view on how their look isn't anything special, but as many people have said it just helps to show wealth and stand out of the crowd. Most people who have party hats realize they're going to get a lot of attention when they wear it, particularly in f2p worlds, and they probably go out to f2p just to show it off. If party hats actually appealed to people, then why did so many people sell theirs shortly after getting it if they played classic? I hear about so many people, who sold their party hats for some quick money years ago, regret their decision with today's prices. People are only after money and/or status.

 

I like the look because of the price.

If they were 1gp each everyone would be wearing one, would that look cool? no.

When you see a partyhat you usually look at it and say "Wow hes rich."

 

ya i agree i like items that help in combat and are exspensive like torva, divine, ely, ect.

 

not really I can remember back when p hats were 3-9mill and most other rares were under 1m you saying back when a mill was 5 bucks p hats were worth a lot? oh 15 bucks yay lol
