ways to avoid getting scammed:

USING PAYPAL
-NEVER accept PAYPAL from buyers unless they are staff/mods/trusted members
-USE PLAYER AUCTIONS WHEN TRADING WITH UNRTRUSTED MEMBERS IS RECOMMENDED!

OMM/mm
USE OMM/mm (OFFICIALl middleman) make sure you are talking to the right OMM! (ASK FOR A PM- confirming they're email)
FOR BIG TRADES I WOULD SUGGEST OMM

MEMBERS-
ITS BETTER YOU tradE with trusted MEMBERS(long time member, legit vouches)
make sure you are trading with the right person,dont fall for imposters (check email addresses properly)
long time member(alone) does not mean trusted
posts count means nothin

-GOING FIRST-
Nothin wrong going first to OMM just keep some proofs of the trade( again check theyre email properly)
50/50 ? NO WAY!

lots of vouches are they legit ? how much are they worth? ? did they go 1st ?

PRIVATE MESSAGES
-always ask a pm from the buyer/omm/seller/ before trading

If everybody only trades with the trusted, how does one become trusted?

 

Or just always use a very trusted free middleman, if they deny using a middleman the majority of the time they are scamming.

 

They get vouches from the trusted.

 

You contradicted yourself.

 

I think what he meant to say was long time member with legit vouches and not just a long time member on its own.

Recently purchased an account from this person, and the information that was given after payment was incorrect, and when asked to resolve the person logged off of msn messenger....

Likely scammer unless he resolves the issue.

Be warned.

how do you get trusted without donating?

 

prolly with your vouches(legit vouches), join date(not a must, but it helps)

 

I'd like to say follow your instincts;
If a trade feels fishy, it probably *is*.

I.e.
-The person is super pushy about moving the trade along right now.
-If the person is female (sorry girls!); guys often do this as instinctively we tend to trust them quicker.
-No willingness to compromise.
-Excuses for everything (i.e. why they have to trade this minute, why they can't use MM, etc.)

All-in-all, helpful guide. More so to get people to think about it, even if they had already heard all this information.
