I think myspace would of put up more of a fight if it was more user friendly. Facebook has been #1 for years now, I can't see myspace making a come back.

MySpace tried to hard to keep an audience. They tried maximizing profits from the annoying advertisements on the home page that slowed down the entire site, but lost members instead.

Facebook wins because it targeted a larger and older age group than MySpace, and was much more simple and to the point.

Last time I went on MySpace was late 2006. It was not even worth making an account for.

It's currently valued at around $50 billion, estimated to swell to over $100 billion by 2012 if not sooner.

Myspace isn't really a social networking site anymore as much as Facebook is at the moment. Myspace is more a social media site, they have changed its main focus in the past few years, mainly because they knew it couldn't compete with Facebook in the near future.

Untrue. It was not an attempt to make a site bigger than facebook, more the leading competitor UNTIL facebook expanded.

Reading this made me semi-miss myspace and I kinda feel bad for how fast it went downhill. I went on and There are only 2 people in my friendlist actually posting statuses.

I mainly had an account for mafia wars before they fucked that up too

I think Myspace could do well if you could make it AMAZINGLY easy to use. People would be interested in the potential customization of profiles that Facebook doesn't offers.

I don't get why a company would even bother paying 35m for that pile of trash.

Here is how my myspace profile looked

and here is how plain old facebook looks
    [IMG]

Thats why myspace was better looking and you're able to show who you are more than fb...fb just has likes there are no "myspace whores" you only really add people you know and are friends with...thats the only different thing. I think facebook creators just brainwashed us overnight
