Make Vouches Mean Something

Support, I will now re-arrange my few vouches into sections
It sounds like a great idea also, going first shouldn't really count as a vouch. Vouches should also be put into the template that FireZ has suggested.

Support this, I usually try to vouch like this.

 

I support the idea, although it happening isn't really viable, as loads of people would lose loads of legitimate vouches

 

I had a thread related to this idea here where I stated that when one uses a Middleman in a trade, that the middleman should not vouch for the other user. You touched on that in the few posts I've read, as the two people trading do not deserve two vouches where only one trade was conducted.

 

I kind of support this the only problem I see with not getting a vouch if you went first is suppose a newcomer comes to sythe would you go first to them? On top of that since the newcomer is going first they will never build up a vouch thread. Look at my vouches for example my first few trades were me going first, with those vouches some people began going first to me.

Also for those same people who build trust with vouches then scam this would make it even easier since a "vouch" will mean even more and there are still members who trade vouches when no trade occurred. After they exchange a few/ make a few accounts to vouch with, they will just scam and start over.

The middleman vouching I agree with because the middleman is basically holding all the money which means there is little risk in the trade.

As its been said before a vouch thread should be checked for "quality" not "quantity" as 100 trades can be equivalent to one.

 

I support 90%, although I think that its unfair that the buyer shouldn't be vouched when not going first, because that means that the trusted people will just become more trusted.

And ofcourse the poorer people will never become trusted.

Who vouches the un-trusted?

Trusted members - No, they don't go first.

MM's/OMM's - No, they don't go first.

Un-trusted members - Usually use OMM's/MM's and won't go first to another un-trusted member.

Like the overall idea though.

 

The template sounds nice, but it would take a while to work. Maybe a simple sticky/announcement could help people in the future and distinguish old vouches from new ones.

I might make a few "suggestive way to vouch" stickys and see if it can catch on.

 

SUpport, also stupid vouches for services like free training for 1h or so shouldnt be allowed, ive seen people with tons of such vouches willing to go second..stupid

 

Well, you can't ask for vouches sooooooo. It's not really mandatory that you're vouched for free services, just usually people do for a thank-you.

Also, vouches for using a MM should be down the the MM's discretion.

 

I dunno i think you guys are making to much of a fuss over this i mean it should really be upto the person buying/dealing with said person to actually go look at that persons vouches to determine whether they are trust worthy, but yea everytime i get vouched i ask them to specify if they went first and what the trade was for just so my vouch thread looks tidy.

And if you got rid of free training vouches etc.. itd be real hard for people to start up i mean its how i got started with a free training service i just hoped they would vouch after and about 60% of them did after that i started buying alot of RSGP and built relationships with the sellers and it help gain me more trust etc... when i tried to just jump into the RSGP side of things no one would trade me and 99.99% of the people i spoke to when i first started tried to scam me, so yea i reckon the vouches are fine as is people just need to actually go skim the a persons vouch thread =/

Also i dont support FireZ suggestion of a template itd be really mundane looking vouch thread but i do support being specific for example

That's just how it works.
Eventually people will try your services anyhow; Give them better customer-service is equal to MORE customers! Thats just how it works
Atleast that is how it works at where I do my stuff.. Don't know how it works at the RS section or so..

 

If you're going to do that remember to leave an exception for rare names. It's better that who owns what name is kept more or less private.

 

God point. I'd trade rare names via pm's and not even make it public to begin with, too dangerous.
