How to deal with imposter syndrome with job interviews?

Hi all, first post back in years.

I have an interview tomorrow for a job I really want, similar field to the one I’m in currently. I would actually be going down in title for an opportunity at future career growth and overall opportunity. I understand the business and what they do well and I know I would succeed but leading up to tomorrow I am having big time imposter syndrome. It’s making me nervous just preparing for the interviews. Company is flying me out for a super day and I’m nervous I won’t do well. Once I start talking I know I speak with confidence and understanding of the business and what they do/what I have done in my current role.

any assistance or tips leading up to actual interview would be greatly appreciated

If this is something you always struggle with, try subtly talking to your peers to assess their level of knowledge/qualifications/experience and compare it to your own. If you find that you're equally qualified this might assure you and make you feel less like an imposter in your role.

Another way you can get past this is by realizing everyone is living this life for the first time just like you. Everyone is experiencing this feeling to some degree. Just embrace it as normal and embody the mindset of "fake it till you make it".

In my career I've much preferred to work with highly motivated people who I had to train from scratch over the people who were already set in their ways. Be open minded, be accepting of criticism, and don't take anything too personally. You'll thrive

    Good luck, you got this
