    Personally if I had the money I'd buy something along the lines of this:
    [IMG]
    This is in Australian prices.
    Forgot to add custom heatsink, would probably be the noctua d14($100) :p

    Best price to perfomance Kill Dank. :p
    That's just a realistic build, otherwise i'd prob do some shit like 990x + 590 quad SLI, 24gig ram, a ton of more rich folks stuff.

    Yea, I just don't like them because I'm not a budget kind of person. If I'm buying something, I want top-end. Not best deal.

    I'm also not gonna do a realistic build, gonna do an expensive one.

    I would post my current specs, but you guys would lol at me 'cos I got a prebuilt.(dad wouldn't let me build. -.-)

    I like top end, but the 2600k performs on par with the 990x in the applications I use pre much, so I'll save that $900 or something and buy ssds and shit :p

    Building a custom PC

    CASE - $170 {Thermaltake}

    CPU 1 - $1600 {Core i7 995x} (If it's legit, I want this one. I haven't heard of any being released yet though.)
    Otherwise,

    CPU 2 - $1000 {Core i7 990x}

    Either way, I'm gonna overclock the fuck out of it.

    MOBO - $360 {4way SLI, Triple Chan}

    Power Supply - $290 {ULTRA x3, 1600 watts, yes, it will fit in the case, and it will have enough power}

    Graphics Cards - $700 x 4 = $2800 {GTX 580, Quad SLI}

    Cooling - $110 {Corsair H70}

    RAM - $300 {24gb Kingston, 6x4gb, 1600mhz, triple channel.}

    SSD - $300 {corsair 160GB ssd}
    HD - $350x3 = $1050 {Hitachi 3TB internal, 6gb/s, 7200rpm}

    Optical - $180 {plextor Blu Ray burner}
    (I'll probably throw in this super multi I have at home too, just cuz.)

    And because I like my music

    Speakers - $320 {5.1 surround.}
    Sound Card - $140 {Nothing Fancy}

    AND, last and definitely not least, my beast monitor

    Monitor - $3730 {six fucking screens in one}

    GRAND TOTAL = $11,350
    - $600 for the Proc, if I can't get the one I want.

    But it's insane.

    Seriously though, I would have liked 2000mhz+ ram, but the mobo that supports quadsli doesn't support that much. I could overclock it, but I don't wanna. I could have more RAM too, but the mobo doesn't support it and 24 is enough anyway.The 9 tb of data drives are for my movies, music, and pr0n collection. (currently have almost 4TB of stuff saved, would be nice to move them all to a single drive or two.) Also, I'd love it if I could use the Xeon processors and not have to change everything up and switch motherboards. And, shut up if you think it's all too expensive.

    Also, uhm.. Yeah, I want this PC so bad.

    995x turned out to be the 990x.
    That is so total overkill, I'd prob drop down to quad sli 590s and get a bigger SSD tbh.
    250gig ssd for games + OS would be beast :p

    Cases are personal preferences for most people.
    The HAF series provide excellent airflow, but tbh I'd only buy one if I had it tucked away as I think it's ugly as fuck. If you like the look of the HAF cases, deff get a 922. :)
    I love simple and plain cases cases like lianli, fractal, corsair.

    I myself have an Alienware and I love the look. Found a case that looked kind of look an Alienware case but the reviews were terrible.

    The prices I listed were for each item, like I have 4 Xeons so you multiply 1019 by 4.

    3 for each, and that way you can have NVIDIA 3D.

    The build is designed to have the ultimate set up for 2 people. Basically it is 2 computers in 1 case. But also you can have 1 person using it as a cluster to be even faster.

    Won't fit my mobo, You need a full tower.

    Xeon's are server proc's, that's the only reason you can use 4 of them, AND WHERE IS THE HYPER THREADING?. Also, you need to provide links to the parts. How do we know all of that will even work together unless we have info?? OH, and I have a sound card. I refuse to use raid because I need the space on all of my drives. And you could have a much better proc than a 5650, even though you have 4 of them. Bottom line is you have 2 computers there, everyone else only has one. AND, you need 2 desks? Wtf. For that many monitors get the Samsung six-screen.

    This is what I built a few weeks ago:

    Processor:
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
    Memory:
    4096MB RAM

    1 TB
    Video Card:
    ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1GB
    Monitor:
    LG Flatron W2361V 23" Full HD
    Sound Card:
    Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)
    Speakers/Headphones:
    Keyboard:

    Logitech Media Keyboard
    Mouse:
    Logitech Gaming Mouse
    Mouse Surface:
    Operating System:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
    Motherboard: ASUS P8H67
    Computer Case:
