I spent about 300 dollars so far putting together a disaster supply kit.
It currently has:

100ft of rope
2 wire saws
1 machete
4 mylar blankets
fish hooks

flint and striker
tent


to go:
1 shotgun
1 bolt action rifle
layered winter jacket
canned goods
water purification tablets
flashlight
wind-up radio
ect.


you can use these for simple camping or in an emergency.

Well if you want to up your computer, buy an intel core i7 processor (unless you have one already) and some RAM. Possibly even invest with your money, unless you want instant gratification with an item of some sort i'd suggest buying a watch or some type of gadget.
