Paypal: Chargebacks and Limitations

People go on proxies and send it. Open up a report later on and act like their PayPal was stolen. Yes, your basically screwed. I've had unauthorized claims where the idiots didn't go on a proxy. You might get lucky, but chances are high that you are screwed.

 

Yeah, this kid wasn't smart. I'm almost 100% sure he didn't use a proxy.

 

I cannot believe the real life turmoil people can put you through with something as simple as a verified paypal and a proxy or VPN. Do they (the buyer who charges back) incur any limitations to their own account or any other punishments? Curious to know if paypal really is just a one way street.

I also found out that "PayPal's Seller Protection Policy" policy only works if both parties are from UK,USA and Canada, so us Aussie have no protection at all. But then i dug deeper and they dont cover virtual goods at all..

Also the PP:SPP only covers you for up to $5000 of charge back claims per year, you have to have a premier account or buiesness accountm must be able to track the package to the address and a bunch of other ludicrous expectations to even have a chance to be covered. It seems the more I google Paypal scams the more i want to shut my account down and find an alternative.

Althought in Australia apparently paypal is apart of the "Australian Banking Industry Ombudsman" scheme, and if you file a complain through them Paypal have only 30 days to reply to your dispute (about you getting charged back). Now nothing like this has happened to me as i have never been charged back yet, but the day I do, i will be following this up an hounding my Ombudsman to help out.

Complete disbelieve in how popular this site is, and how it supposedly prides itself on E-safety but how little it does for its sellers...

I dont know how to avoid being scammed for these customers who cooperated with our call confirmation and sent his ID proof to us ,but they still took charge back in the end

 

Just sell to trusted people and your safe.

Question, how long does one have to submit an unauthorized payment claim?

The last thing I want is to get money, wait a week, use it, and then be in the negative when they file the claim.

Sad thing is Paypal will not go after the 10,000s of people who commit fraud daily. They rather take the funds back from people like us. Paypal is really a shady company. They purposely limit 1000s of accounts daily in hopes the owner can't verify the account. The limited my 4 year old business verified account last year 6 times.

 

If paypal is such a bad payment method for trading on sythe, more people need to resolve to other payment methods such as moneybookers, alertpay, liberty reserve, western union, mail, etc

Just one question, would email from their registered paypal email be enough to verify its them to paypal? I heard that phone can but have no idea if msn/email can?

 

Although it is technically possible to chargeback within 180 days of payment, the odds of this are extremely low. I have never had a chargeback date back further than 3 months.

 

if the account is numerously making payments from diff i.ps paypal will limit the account until the buyer can provide proof of acc ownership ( photo i.d , bank statements etc... )

 

I've had a credit card reversal that came 5 months after the payment was sent. I lost...

Speaking of credit card reversals, this sticky makes no mention of them. Many reversals come from people talking directly to their credit card company and not even bothering with the paypal resolution center. There should be an addition about that
