Anyone remember AutoRune in 2004?

Does anyone know how Jagex caught all the guys using AutoRune and made a mass ban?

 

can't say I do. what makes you think of this?

It was kind of obvious when you where spawning 1000's of phats in minutes.

Lol, i was too much of a noob back then i use to CheatEngine and just stare at 2147m wishing i could actually use it.

 

I used to use Auto Rune back in 2004. I never duped party hats, but I made it to the top 100 cheater list. Just wondering how they managed to find 900+ accounts to ban.

 

I think JaGex found out because some tattletales told them.

 

Besides the tattletales, the prices of the phats SUNK tremendously. I remember the glitch and how much trouble it caused lol.

 

I imagine phats would be over 10B now if it wasn't for that glitch.

I missed the glitch by 1 year, could've made loads of cash if I started playing a year earlier!

 

So after they fixed the glitch the players actually kept the phats?

 

Many were banned but from what I hear a lot of people kept the items. I think thats the main reason there are still quite a few crackers left in the game.

 

Wow.. if only we were some of these people that benefits from glitch's..
