I support, it seems infractions are not HARSH at all.

I recently reported a user for multiple posts of spam, illegal things, etc, and im not even sure he got 1 infraction. As for the infractions expiring, no support. Infractions expire in a few months, which should be kept the same.

I agree that less infractions should be needed for the temporary bans but the current system seems to work as the people who do post malicious things don't get to post much as they are already reported and banned. So it would be nice if it was less infractions but the system works as is.

I agree, with some sort of moderation. I think infractions should mean more.
Change the expiration date to accrue over the course of 3 months?

I have to say I have no clue where you are coming from, every time I report illegal things they are dealt with swiftly and justly. In all cases they have either been banned or temp-banned. Spam is easily dealt with by simply ignoring it, don't feed the trolls is a good motto. If they are consistent in their spamming then report it and contact a sectional or something.

    Words can't even describe.
You need to infract. If you don't, then new mods will just start to delete, and then similar offenses will be treated different and cause a row. From there, the entire system will malfunction. Either infract or don't as a staff team, but you all need to be on the same level.

They aren't if you use them in an efficient way. I agree, I never infracted much, but others do. They only work if there is a system and currently there isn't one.

Im not saying their not dealt with, but usually the posts are just deleted. The user doesnt usually receive an infraction.

I've been infracted one time for helping a dude out and one for offering a decent offer on an account, but the guy not getting on msn, so later when he got on he reported me and i got an infraction...

Each infraction = 20 posts deducted?

^ That seems like the only logical reason.

Exactly. I think you brought up an even better focus and that isn't on the system itself, but rather the implementation of said system. If all staff were on the same page, and there was some sort of base line or norm to follow, things would be much smoother and more efficient. The fact is at the moment, however, one mod might give an infraction for something, another mod might only delete the post, and yet another mod might just ignore it all together. It's a very poor system.

I'm tired of hearing excuses: it's good enough, or mod's discretion. Why can't this actually be taken to heart and have an overhaul of the infraction system? When was the last time it was actually seriously looked at?

I support this, it teaches people not to constantly break the small rules which are a pain in the neck to enforce.
