I would like to see the "1 bump per 24 hours" rule changed.

Theres nothing more annoying than being online, and seeing someones thread at the top of the page with tons of people wanting service, and hes offline.

Im not saying you should be able to bump it every minute, but maybe every 3-5 hours?

No support. 24 hours is more than fair. If you allowed bumping every 3-5 hours it would bring little variety to topics because people who are more active would just continuously bump their topic right when they are allowed to do so. Plus if you think about it that means you can bump your topic almost 6 times in a day. That means 6 post count per day. 6 Posts per day it a lot more than the normal user's average post per day. You just have to learn to work with your one bump per day and know the smart time of the day to use it so it will stay up longer. The reason some people have threads with people wanting services even though they are offline is because they people worked hard and earned popularity and trust with their thread / service. It takes time but those people all managed to work with their one bump. I have never had a problem working with one bump in the past. Not to mention there is already a few different ways people bypass the one bump per 24 hour system without getting in trouble. I would actually be surprised if this were accepted.

Well just report it and your problem is solved. I report these posts every time I see them and they are always dealt with. If everyone, including yourself, decides to report these posts when they see them the people bumping before 24 hours will get punished and start to learn from their infraction. They will stop doing it altogether if people start reporting the posts.

    The hell?
The tons of people wanting service is causing it to get bumped lol.
Something can be on the 3rd page, and someone will post on it requesting something. Causing it to be on the first page.

    No.
    People suggest this again...
    and again...
    and again...
Postcount's supposed to mean something. If you can just post 30 seconds, we'll turn into a spam community.

This. If you see someone's thread on the first page, with lots of replies, chances are they have a really popular service.

I think he knows that, but said 30 seconds to make a point. I agree with him though, post count should be composed of constructive and good posts not a bunch of bumps. I wish this were the case with most people's post counts but it seems like a lot of members will try to get their post counts up with bumps, or just go on every thread in the market and say "I'm very interested. Add my msn ____." Which in my eyes is essentially just as bad as a post count full of bumps.

ok how about a rule for bumping is you have to delete the previous bump then? that way postcount wont come from bumping.

    Bumping

A bump is essentially to bump your thread to the top of the forum.

You are allowed one of these daily, as you when you bump, you do not contribute anything other than moving your thread to the top of the chain.

You are however, allowed to post useful information pertaining to your thread as many times as you want. After a trade, you are entitled to say, 'Thanks for the trade still looking' as many times as you want so long as you it's legitimate.

As for deleting posts then re bumping to stop the issue of artificially inflated post counts, that is not the point.

The point is you are entitled to bump your post for no reason other than to move it to the top of the forum.
Deleting it and re bumping is irrelevant to the fact that you've bumped more than once.
See the MM forum for example, same rule no post count.

You are also saying you are annoyed at seeing people requesting services to people that are offline. Have you ever considered of PMing them and directing them to your thread?
It's like a little supermarket suing for a change in law because the big giants get all the customers.

    In essence, no support.

I'm perfectly fine with 24 hours per day. I don't mind having to wait at all.
No support. People who don't want to bump 24 hours per day will just do it anyways... Patience is a virtue.

No support, the 24 hour rule is more than enough time for some other threads to be a the top for a while.

You sold 50m to a guy.

    Scenario A:

    He vouched on your thread.

    Course of action:

You reply and vouch for him.
You say, thanks bro, still available, still selling etc.

    Scenario B:

He doesn't vouch/vouches on your vouch thread.

    Course of action:

    You vouch for him.
Trade completed, still looking to sell some more today!

I think the use of, 'as many times as you want' is a bit ambiguous, however, you should know what I mean. However, with my prescribed scenarios and course of actions, yes, they're allowed.

    It's technically not a bump.

The primary purpose of a bump is to bump your page to the top of a forum, without giving any relevant information pertaining to the thread.
The ulterior purpose of what I've just said however may be to bump.

It's legal, exercise your own discretion though, as it may be construed as spam if you over do it.
