What would you do with....

Hypothetical question here. In the UK the national lottery's prize fund tonight for the Euro Millions is £105,000,000 GBP or roughly $167,700,000 USD. I was wondering what you would spend the money on.

For me personally i would keep £5,000,000 (~$8mill) for myself, split £10,000,000 (~$16mill) between family, friends and charity's and then create myself a property empire of £90,000,000+ (~$143mill) worth .

Ive worked out roughly if i bought 600 property's at around the £150,000 (~$240,000) mark and rented them out at £550pcm (~$880) after all deductions including tax, insurance e.t.c. i would end up with a weekly income (based on a 5 week month) of approx £27,000 ($43,000).

So i was wondering what you guys would spend it on. Although this is just general discussion/off topic, please try and keep it semi decent rather than just posts like "I'd just blow it all on drink, drugs and hookers!" even though the first person ever to win the jackpot for the national lottery in Britain did exactly that and is now living on state benefits.

 

I would use some of it to buy a lot of bread and personally fly over to africa and drop it from planes. (i don't wanna get too close and catch disease).

the rest is for me and my woman. Maybe a wine and dine with some nice steaks for the both of us.

 

I'd keep it and to be honest still finish school and get a job. With that kind of money you wouldn't need to work, but you would get extremely bored after a good year or so with nothing to do.

 

After taxes those numbers don't look quite so fine...

 

i'd throw a big party to celebrate, bbut most of it i would save and only spend what is needed =P

4. drain the pool
5. fill the pool with money
5. 1/2 buy a bunch of guns.
6. buy a golden toilet
7. wipe my ass with $100 dollar bills
8. buy other shit
9. give money to friends
10. give money to people who need it.

Agreed. With any of the money I'd have left I'd donate it to charities and keep enough for me self to live on.

 

I would keep it very secret (No thanks assassination), distribute a portion of it between close family members and friends, and use the rest of it to live a life of luxury (although only spend it on things I deem necessary or entertaining, not things like buy a golden toilet, as above..). I would also probably use some of it to accommodate some of my very close family/friends and buy them a load of luxuries..

 

you have to admit it... a solid gold toilet is pretty legit.

 

I wouldn't do the lottery, but lets say I found a ticket and won. Give all of it to charity, as I never earned that money. That's just me though.

 

I would try and still live a normal life. Yeah still have some dream items like a nice car, house, etc. but I would not go crazy buying $9,000,000 yachts and private jets and stuff like that. That's stupid and a waste.

Buy my parents a nice house.
Buy myself a really nice house and furnish it.
Give money to my family, relatives, and friends.
Maybe invest in a big company or buy some stocks.

I'd start by going on a vacation to like Hawaii or somewhere similar for like a month, or basically until I got bored. Then I'd go buy myself and my family a sweet waterfront house. I'd shower my friends and family with gifts and fun times. Then after the party life got boring I'd start investing my wealth into businesses that would establish a long term estate for my future generations. I'd probably donate a couple mill to causes that I'm interested in. I'd probably travel a lot in my free time. I wouldn't let family and friends get dependent and stuff, because I know money can do that to people. I'd put my friends and family through school completely paid for and everything. Just the obvious stuff.

 

I would spend half of the money on poor people in difficult places, changing a persons life will keep your heart warm for rest of your life. The rest would probably go to some of my dreams, travel to famous places and so on.

 

There's more than enough things to do in terms of entertainment/holidays/spending luxury time, etc.

 

For the rest of your life?

 

Hmmm lets see firstly i would buy a nice house for all my family and friends to live in then i might donate to good causes.And then finally i would invest all the money back in the lottery to see if i win anymore

Working is the last thing I'd do. There is definitely more than enough to do. Travel (quite literally) the whole world, that would probably take up the majority of your life. If you like a particular place, stay there until you get bored. I think it would be amazing.
