If I was american I would join the coast guard!

I currently attend a defence college, where I do normal citizen courses..

Coast guard rescue pilot would be awesome for sure.

busy debating on signing up or not. Live in the UK, and im thinking if i get kicked out of uni of joining, Logistics or Intelligence

As a poolee myself, I talk to recruiters every week. I vaguely remember them saying to not lie about any medical issues. You will get caught. Whether you're half way through bootcamp, or you've been in for 3 years, it's an automatic discharge.

 

its highly unlikely that somebody is going to look up your medical records once you pass MEPS. You start a whole new medical packet when you go through reception before basic training, and that packet stays with you throughout your military career. Get through MEPS and keep your mouth shut and you should be fine.

One of my friends was prior service marines who got blown up in Iraq and got a medical discharge from the marines because he has 7 screws in his arm and some other metal pieces in his body, and now he's in the army as an 11B

Joining the army was on the card if all else failed. So far so good.

Sorry don't take that the wrong way, I respect those protecting my country and it's a respectful job. Are their many 21 year old recruits or are they usually under 21?

I also wish I knew what all these differant work codes ment lol, it would help if people put in brackets the laymans terms of thier job description haha

 

I'm in college now, and my last backup is joining the military.

 

There are quiet a few under 21.

The codes are where people are stationed + what department they are in.
the E-# is there rank (highest here is E-4, Lance Corporal) Starting at E-0 for recruit and working up to E-10 for Warrant Officer



I feel I need to edit this because people dont seem to understand that this isn't for the USA..

for those in the states -
E-1 = Private
E-2 = Private
E-3 = Private First Class
E-4 = Corporal
E-5 = Sergeant
E-6 = Staff Sergeant
E-7 = Sergeant First Class
E-8 = First Sergeant
E-9 = Sergeant Major


So sorry if what I stated above that didn't apply to you. But just remember, not every country follows the same system..

 

are u in the marines or army?
cause the army e-10 is seargent major of the army. and there is only 1 of those.
e-10 for the marines, is the equivalent

warrant officer is a different type of rank which does not fall under enlisted or officer, but a seperate rank kind of.

Guys, there is no such thing as an e-10. Enlisted ranks stop off at e-9

Also, E-4 is Corporal in the Marine Corp, not Lance Corporal

Warrant officers are specialty officers in one track/job
