we are getting a couple of people to talk to the school.

I was just wondering what ur views are on:

1. STATE OF ISRAEL
2. HALAL AND KOSHER MEAT

 

1. Aot of oppression from the Isreali's side (it's not Jews fault, just the ideology of the state). Palastine pretty much just want their land back, Isreal opposes it and says it risks national security. I mean, there probably is more to it, so I won't comment any further, unless I know indepth about the whole situation. I don't think this is a Jew vs Muslim conflict.

2. What about those 2 meats? I don't know about Kosher, but I've heard Halal meat is just basically normal meat, but there slaughter the animal in a specific way/with a prayer.

i mean do u think that muslims and jews should 'keep' up with 21st century and actually drink wine and eat pork?
i understand why they didnt eat that shit in those days because they thoght pork was dirty

 

1. Israel won it far and square. For Israel to give itself back to the Palestinians, is like America giving itself back to the Indians... Doesn't seem fair.

2. I don't know too much about halal, but I know Muslims will eat halal and kosher meat, but Jew's will only eat kosher meat. I think it's all in the way the animal is killed.

both Israel and US took the land from others and now treat the previous inhabitants like shit. how is that fair? the UN gave israel the military capabilities to defend themselves from the muslims, not take more land.

 

1. Israel is at a permanent war against a hostile enemy and I have no problems with them fighting it. However, they violate international civil and human rights laws and should not receive military support from the US or any other UN members.

2. Don't really have an opinion. If its what Jews want to eat, let them do it. Is it a bit restrictive? Possibly.

The reason for this is, is because of the way that the animal is killed. If it isn't killed in a specific way Muslims and Jews refuse to eat it, and this is one of the reasons for Halal and Kosher meat. Pigs are seemed to be as 'dirty' animals and that is why they refuse to eat pork. Alcohol is deemed as you haven't got self control of yourself and this is why they won't drink either. Suppose you could get away with a sip then!

 

No, I do not think that muslims and jews should assimilate into society.

Those who follow the laws that say not to: eat pork, drink wine, ect, are set apart from the rest of society. This may seem like a bad thing, but it isn't. This enable these groups of people to travel and find others who follow the same code of law which them feel close to one another. This can lead to them settling down in the same area and establishing a community. In these communities all the people therein, become familiar with each other and this forms a tighter knit between community. Being part of a tight community provides you with neighborly benefits, and a great feeling that is hard to explain .

1. Awful to Palestinians, I mean after all they are human beings. Israel would cease to exist without constant support from the U.S.

2. It's not only a matter of keeping up with the 21st century, but they are against their religion for a reason. Alcohol causing liver disease and causes you to make stupid decisions.

 

I realize this. Most of my schoolmates/best friends are Jews and they frequently violate the religious laws. Most New York Jews are liberal or reformist anyway.

 

Yeah, you may not be able to find halal/kosher meats in many places aswell. I for one rarely eat halal meat even though I am Muslim.
