Banned; Was buying/selling gold

Today I logged into one of my mules and found it banned for account hijacking.

I have never hacked or phished a single account in my life but I bought and sold billions of gold through this account, latest was 900m sunday night and sold 650 of that since.

the 250m isn't a huge loss, but many people on here, as well as myself prior to today thought you can never get banned for RWT.

You can deny the ban being RWT related but I know for a fact this was the case. I actually run a site (Which I was rightfully banned on here for advertising lol) and all I do is buy and sell gold. Never once hacked a single person in my life.

I would make sure people would give junk and I would do the same when buying and I guess that didn't work.

My message is simple, be careful with your mules. I honestly never imagined a ban in my life for RWT, and I know a lot of people here think the same, so be sure to use multiple mules and be very careful when buying and selling gold.

After a while when they see a level 3 or low levels trade people hundreds of millions - billions of gold for no apparant reason they begin to wonder.

That was previously thought because they are going for bots. They catch some people, not all but still some.

 

Actualy the case was that you had lots of mules.
Have one secure account which you have created by yourself (two if needed).
No need to have many accounts, transfer the gold between them often, especially if you did not create them.

 

Its because the Gold you bought was Most likely Hijacked. They would never ban a legit mule like that for Hijacking. It would most likely be Banned for Real world trade;Goldfarmer. They won't unban you either sorry Hope this answered your question.

 

Wasn't planning on getting unbanned nor is this a thread complaining about the ban.

I saw a lot of threads on here for months now with OP talking about how to buy/transfer gold and all of the responses would always be "trade it straight out, no way to get caught"

Purpose of this is that I did buy and sell gold from multiple people and ending up getting banned. If the gold was hijacked like you said, the possibility of others doing the same are at risk.

 

I had only 2 mules prior to today. I would never trade between the two accounts and when ever I would buy gold, I would pick a mule to trade it to if it was low.

Both mules were created by me 3+ years ago and were played on legit, never botted, over the years.

 

I know it seems like its so obvious, but I notice a lot of people on here who don't think you can get banned for buying and selling gold, this shows that you can, just telling people to trade smart and be careful.

 

My brother was banned in 2008 for account hi jacking, he said some random was spamming quitting RS near the BH bank, he went an traded the person and revived around 5-10m and was banned no more then 20 minutes later. I have since tried appealing on behalf of him (he quit once banned) via email and they said something along the lines of " their investigation team has linked the IP to various other hacked accounts and there was no way he would be getting unbanned.. Then the, please start a new account speech lol.

My guess is the account you traded with was phished or stolen, and he was selling rsgp from it. Your IP seems to be receiving goods from a reportedly phished/stolen account. Your account is now banned.

 

Yeah I think you are right, but I guess we can use this as a trade with caution overall and remember jagex has ultimate control so be careful with your account and trades.

 

This happened to me... but I was doing junk buying/selling
(I'd buy peoples junk for .5/m, then I would give junk and pay .25/mil)
Got a ban for hijacking...
It was fucking ridiculous.
Had 700m + yellow phat on it.
There is nothing you can do to appeal it.

 

Wow I am genuinely shocked. I'm a little scared to trade now. I wonder if you can get in trouble at all for just trading between your own characters.

 

Wouldn't they catch on to Dicing? I mean it involves a lot of high value trades for no actual objects?

 

The point is, only buy gold from trusted members and you are safe.

 

Did any of the people you traded with, if you remember their RS, got banned?

I think you tried to use "mules" that originally weren't your accounts. I have 1 mule that I plan to sell everything on. And I plan to sell bills

 

Like I said before, the mules were made by me 2-3 years ago, and it appears to be a problem from where I bought it, so I don't see whats the problem with having multiple accounts with small amounts rather than one with a lot which is still at risk.
