    Choosing a Car

    So I am thinking about buying a 1997 BMW Z3 1.9L blue for 13k.

    What does everyone think?

The car has 48k miles and works very well.

If you have the money, it's an okay car to get I suppose. Looks great and they're built very well..But if money is a little bit tight I would pass. Parts and repairs for BMW's can be a lot more expensive than other cars.

    Choosing a Car

I don't recommend spending a lot of money on a car. I can't drive yet, but I already got my first car, which I drive around fields, and will get on the road.
No matter how much you may laugh, I own a Rover Metro. I don't give a fuck what people think. It's a 1.5L, Diesel. It's a N reg, and has done 91k miles. I intend on running it for over 10 years, maybe putting a turbo on it for a laugh, or just making random modifications.

It cost me £150 ($250?), and I love it. Why spend thousands on something which may go slightly faster. This can go 70, which is the fastest legal speed in England, and can actually go faster to near 100.

I have a 2004 WRX, highly recommend them.
Just expect to get pulled over a shit load.
If you go auctions you can pick new models up for around 7-14k

    Choosing a Car

I just got my 1st car and I had a choice, my dad would give me $5,000 toward a car; or give me his car and he will pay my insurance for a year. So I took his. Trust me man in this days economy you want to get the best value you can with the gas prices..You need to save save save.

What kind of cars are you into then?
You have picked a nice car to start off with, just abit harsh on the wallet when it comes to maintaining it. If you don't have a deep pocket do you need something fancy? or would something like a corolla be good?

    Choosing a Car

I like convertibles two seats. Not looking for family type car. Looking for a personal use car I can go around with. Maintaining the car is one of my less concerns as my neighbor is a mechanic that deals with BMW and luxury cars all the time.
I want something that is affordable, can impress people, and importantly have a good mileage. This fits for the BMW I choose but i'm in a debate on which car fits best for me.

Get a Audi. You can get a 2004-2005 for that money.

    Choosing a Car

the one that has 68k miles dealer said I have a "3 month/3000 mile Extended Warranty at no additional cost". Maybe I could offer less than 10k which is what they are offering for.

    Who knows,

But i'm looking for other models and compare.

I'd mention the other offer to the more expensive car and see if the owner will go down. It might help.
