Lulzsec target Runescape?

I bet this is going to happen. It's a game full of angry 13 yo... Runescape would make a prime target.

 

I guess it could happen.
But they wouldn't target RS, they'd target Jagex as a whole. They have many other games, none nearly as popular, but they make money from them too.

Unlike those other sites though, RuneScape probably has some damn good security. I mean, it's rolling in big cash, someone hacks the server and fucks with the database, and the games fucked.

 

i mean, they've hacked the US senate website and some FBI database... I'd like to imagine that those are more secure than a java based browser game... lol

 

They claimed that some porn sites had better security than those did.

 

Hopefully Lulzsec publishes RS logins

 

Might have been a joke? Also any data/site is easy to hack if you have admin access, all the security in the world can't stop you if you have the right credentials.

However they would probably knock the server down and Jagex would be fucked. They would have to restore all the passwords back to nothing.

Dont assume Jagex is that stupid.

 

The point of their hacking is to show a lack of security and usually there is something that triggers them to do it. Although Runescape would be a prime target, I don't think they have the guts to even attempt to, and I heard one of Lulzsec's leaders was based in the UK (don't quote me on this, I thought I read this somewhere though) so Jagex definitely would be on their case if this happened.

That's true. It's a shame that they are doing this for their own entertainment although they say they do it to show "security flaws"...

They'd get more attention for hacking WoW.


If they hacked Runescape, I doubt it would get much media spin, if they hacked WoW, it most certainly would. However, given that they hacked Sony, Nintendo, etc, I'd say that if they haven't ran out of targets to hack... they'd still prey on the supposedly secure companies that are of important to the working class adults, as opposed to games designed for kids.

 

Well... I was just looking at their release page (http://lulzsecurity.com/releases/) they have hacked a site every 3 or 4 days... I'm expecting another site/company to be victimized any day now.

Aaright boys, keep your fingers crossed for them choosing runescape and dumping some users/passes. Idk about you but I want bank.

might happen...but they would hack jagex, not just rs...also so many sites like sony etc have a good security system too...they still got hacked
