Private message confirmation system (if possible)

I've been working on my website all day so I thought it'd be fun to put the suggestion in image form.

This is an amazing idea. 1000000% support.

 

Would this work in a 3 way trade [where OMM's/MM's] are involved? I support also as it is a good idea, and would make stuff safer i guess, but it would have to be customized around sythe for it to work well.. also i cruise sythe on my iphone so that IP thing will look bad for me some what

 

I have no idea how to code such a thing, but it seems all VERY basic, except for the IP part. I'm also not sure how the IP part would work out best, if possible. Maybe have a geolocation set up to where if it alters within, let's say, 200 miles, it auto-flags it.

 

I really don't see the problem with the system that we have.
Leechers are idiotic anyways, they won't understand this.

 

That right here is a brilliant idea :idea: , one of the best/unique/useful suggestions i have heard since i have been on sythe.

 

This would add two major security steps the current system doesn't have:
1. IP matching
2. E-mail confirmation

Those are the only two hard parts about actually implementing this. Other than that, it would just prevent imposters from being successful in scamming people.

 

Not a bad idea, it'd speed up the process because people can be reluctant to find their profile, insert a subject and whatnot. Support.

I understand, then, that a new page would be opened up for it, then, or would this just be an add-on feature to the inbox?

Finally, would this make Sythe seem even more like a marketplace, rather than a forum (which has a section on the market)

 

Yes, this would most likely be made as a vBulletin plugin/addon. The page could get information from Sythe.org private messaging system and user details, etc.

 

Brilliant idea, however any 'Trusted' member of this community should know by now not to send out Pm's without any description. But I could see this preventing alot of scams, 100% support

 

Problem with IP thing is dynamic IPs (IPs that frequently change) could throw a red flag when there is actually no problem.

 

Or people like me who go between work, home, family, and etc; but always bring their laptops to keep their sythe addiction going

 

The only difficulty with the ip thing would be recording the old ips in a database in order to check it.

 

Old IP addresses are already stored via vBulletin. /argument

I think it's a decent idea, but still not perfect, and I really don't know how many people who actually use it. Rather than implementing a whole new system, just encourage people to take time to respond to PMs in a responsible manner.

 

While this seems like a decent suggestion, I don't think Matthew or Sythe would have the time to code it, as it does seem like a lengthy project.

 

This seems like a great idea but it would take a lot of time to set it up to work.

Keep the IP thing out and I think that'd be good.

 

How would the system work? Sorry, just scimmed it. For instance, is it where your profile says your msn or what? If your sythe acc is hacked, it really doesn't matter. If you have to submit a thing then it be changed, then your shit out of luck if your msn's hacked and you have to wait for an admin to change it.

 

Get idea, but work be quite hard to implement without alot of bugs
