I currently don't see any problem with the current number of members. The Runescape Blackmarket is one of the biggest around if not the biggest. Sythe serves many audiences but mainly Runescape players.

If there is an audience to enlarge it would be WOW, AION or maybe the graphics section if this would actually be the place this community would like to go into. The motto of a website is basically the content expected.

Sythe has turned into "Runescape & Beyond" rather than any "Craigslist of virtual goods". If this issue hasn't come from an administrator or the owner of Sythe (Sythe himself) I really don't see the point of going into this whole advertising issue.

It's better to have a forum with quality members rather than a bunch of members who don't read the rules and spam.

    ~

Do you know 1/10 of the community that you actually think we need more Runescape-players as members?

In my opinion, this is the last thing Sythe has to worry about. Scammers and rule breakers being on top of the priority pyramid.

Google Ads and Facebook would be enough I think.

google adwords is expensive. like, *up to* as much as $3 a click. And you choose what websites to advertise on (or at least categories)

Up to, so a click price is from 1 cent.
You choose categories, and there are some additional options.

cost per click is based on the website, so facebook is a bad idea imo.

Comes up good with some keywords, but with some major keywords - not.
But the main reason to advertise - to get more active members.

If there is a way to somehow advertise on runescape-related videos on youtube - that would be a great way?

Yes if many people are watching them, and if you would add the link in the desciption too, that would be even better.

Well i was thinking sythe could get more people if they paid us for every so many refferals we got to the site that would be a great id and attract and lot of new people the only problem would be the amount of spamming on other sites,

Maybe a competition would be better.

The problem is, newcomers(People who plan to stay and become 'known') always get fucked.

They get scammed by someone, and they just give up on sythe.
And sythe has a bad reputation for being a "scam sanctuary"

Not everyone understands that Sythe actually has a very nice community, but there are always the rotten eggs in the bunch.

    edit;
@skybluesam1 - The problem with that is people would abuse the hell out of it.
People who pay others just to create an account and post a few times, so they get the referral for it.
Once the "competition" is over, they will stop using sythe.

If the advertiser wants to pay - he can pay, maybe some of the paid members will stay on Sythe.

This strategy would bring even more people to sythe, that's why competitions always works out :)

    Wait what??

But I suppose it'll work if we go after WoW and other games as well, not only RS related.
Possibly expand the xbox section, and add a ps3 section (Not "other consoles")

Yes, but that is another suggestion, stick to the topic.

We need more active Sythe members, I mean quality not quantity.
