RaSc = Ban Videos

I believe you: im sure it differs from rep to rep. However, everyone there i have dealt with asks for conclusive proof the runescape trade happened, which cannot be proven with solely screenshots.

 

If it's important to you then record it, but also take screenies and use them, but if that isn't enough proof, use the video.

 

The second screenshot could be from a totally different trade.

 

That's why you get them to trade you. I usually have somebody with text around or something alone those lines. If you do what I say about first picture and second picture. You will win, no doubt.

I guess that could work. But i sell in low pop worlds and its still not a sure guarentee with a video.

Sorry for the misquote, wasnt on purpose. I deleted too much by mistake and tried yet failed to retype what was there.

 

Although videos are good, screenies are good enough. I know there was a program (xshotter or something along those lines) that lets you take multiple screenshots without the need to paste it to Paint, save, repeat. It saves the screenies in a folder within the Xshotter folder.

 

That is exactly what I do. I always take a video, then take screenies of the video. Then I post something like "I have a video for a mod to watch if this isn't proof enough". You shouldn't have to use the video as the evidence, but if for whatever reason it isn't reliable enough, the mod can ask for the video.

 

I support this. People can take screenies of the video if something happens
during the trade. Video is a guarantee that you can get the screenshots you
need to issue a scam report. I think users who perform trades should record the
trade itself, but use it for easier and faster access of taking screenies.
Ban Videos in RaSc, but encourage people to take video for proper screenshots.

 

Whatever is easier for the staff is the best. Good points FireZ.

 

Screenshots < Videos

You realize how easy it is to make fake MSN convos that are impossible to tell they've been edited? It's not very hard. Videos on the other hand, take much more work and skill to edit, and most people on here are just flat out not capable of doing it. Most people are capable of making realistic looking fakes, and unless it's a high profile member, they will get banned from fake pics.

 

i agree, I think it would be good to have a link to a snapshot program so that newbies can easilly download it. They just gotta screenshot main parts of trades. With this info and snapshotting 6-7screenshots per trade i win PayPal claims aswell(1/3)

I don't really think you can say that with certainty. Obviously if someone did succeed they aren't going to come back and brag about how they got someone banned with fake pics. Is there really a point to do it? Not really, but if someone wanted to get someone else banned, it's very possible, and easily doable.

I just think it's extremely dumb to ban videos, because give it a little while longer, and soon screenshots will be obsolete.
