Korasi's Sword- Overpowered or Overrated?

I want to hear from you guys what you think about Korasi's sword. I know I was really disappointed with it after spending over ten days questing and skilling just to get the pre-requirements.

My account is 96 Combat with 97 Strength. I used it for anti-rushing and normal pking. I found against claw rushers it was pretty effective because they usually prayed melee. However, it is so hard to get claw rushers to go for you because many rushers use other weapons now, or blitz/MSB first. Not to mention the 1-itemers breaking my vengeance constantly. Honestly, I would rather use dragon claws in both situations. Although you might get a rusher with protect melee on, that number is small compared to the amount of kills you would get with claws. I think the 50%-150% special is overrated. Why? How often do you see claws hit 0? I claw rushed for a few weeks straight a while back and about 50% of my specs were above 400 total. About 99% of my specs were above 200. Korasi however, hit in the 150-250 range almost half the time when I was using it. So really- is this guaranteed hit any different from claws?

Now the other part is a personal problem- I am a berserker pure with 45 defence. I had no idea Korasi's sword gave defence XP when using the spec. I put it on all different modes and I still receive it. No big deal for most people, but if I were to use this spec about 50 more times I would have 46 defence...

Is there any way to avoid this?
What are your opinions on Korasi's sword? I am desperate to know because so many people love it and think it needs to be nerfed, while I differ completely. Maybe I just dont know how to use it properly??

 

go to your mage book, lower left under the spells. there is a little shield, that it like using long range when ranging, you probably clicked it.

that would cause korasi spec to give defence i think

 

Wow if that was why I was getting defence XP I feel really stupid. Nonetheless, continue with your opinions guys...

Thanks for telling me that by the way, doubt its going to switch my position though. Would having the defence magic on change the damage of my special attack? Maybe thats why it wasn't hitting 400+ very often =D

 

eh.. i say overrated i got it first day it came out its nice spec yes.. but i'd rather use d claws... the d clawers wine b/c they don't have a 100% chance to hit but they also get 2 specs. /shrug.



i think the spec is worth the price/time you spend to get it i had to drop 20m in skills just to do the quest. so its basicly like buying claws or a cheap Godsword.

 

its overpowered But consider u need to do a grandmaster for it So its overpowered cuz its a quest item And it sucks Cuz i got pked alot by it its real affective or sumthing to all ways i do XD also i use it on my main to go to the revenants Cuz the spec powns there so XD

 

I dont really understand how it is so effective though. Most people safe like hell if I am using it, if I cast veng they eat to almost full life. Really the only way I can get a KO with it is if I hit a 350+ normal, land a nice veng, and then Korasi spec. If I am going to use whip to Korasi, I might as well use claws as my KO weapon....

 

its a great wep to use when pking. iv made 4.5b+ pking with it/rushing

 

It's overpowered. It's the new claws from '09 or whenever they were the only thing used in PvP.
