    Most likely this. Apple don't like competition. They like to be the "first" as it were. Or atleast give the illusion they done it first.

    And i agree, this is stupid. Why shouldn't you be able to record at a gig? Besides, the sound quality is always terrible, it's not like you could then sell the copy as a DVD of the gig.

    It's not really a huge deal in all honesty, because recording at gigs always turns out with terrible quality, and it's not like that would be worth anything. I suppose it's more about the principle of the lengths companies are now willing to go to avoid copyright etc.
