Dispute for VERTS being banned from IRC

Ok heres the situation.

Verts was logged into the IRC as normal, non-voiced user Klayton.

I was talking to Karl about something on the forum.

When I posted a link from a proxy he asked why I used it.

I explained that my workplace did not want their IP spouted about the net.

Klayton (verts) began to tell me the IT professional staff was wrong for having me use a proxy.

I replied, "ok thanks if you have anything else interesting to tell me let me know"

At the time I just thought this was an annoying user trying to start an argument so I handled the situation professionally, not arguing back and continuing the conversation I was having with Karl.

Verts then changed his name and added +A to his account and banned me from the IRC for the reason: "cya".



Now I understand mods don't like to be argued with, but in this case I was banned for not continuing an argument with someone I thought was a normal user just trying to start a fight.

Verts please explain yourself as I see no reason, other than show of power, that I should have been banned.
