1 Opinion on how he was trying to scam.He asked you to verify it and turn ON steam guard.Steam is a little bitchy at this thing.If you would have verified it[In this case it already is] and Turn ON steam guard, it would have asked for a code that has been mailed to verified email.And that scammer would have asked you the code, so that he can enter the account.Here's the tricky part.If you try to change pass and email after bypassing steam guard, steam sends the same code again for changing email and pass.So eventually, he would have bypassed steam guard and use the same code for changing password and email.Ask me, this does happens, if you do this within a minute.

I don't mean to bash your thread, but just a heads up to everyone I had a 5 digit STEAM before and someone was trying to retrieve it. The account got disabled.

I didn't have any original information, and I was never able to retrieve the account.

STEAM will not accept transactions made from the same year the account has gotten recovered. They will ask for transactions with the first games ever purchased and the original e-mail.

I apologize again, just a heads up from a personal point of view.
