F2P is what made me a member today. Although I do not believe they advocate members enough as I was lvl 97 combat before I switched over and man I never went back! Removing f2p is not in the best interest of jagex as less people will try the game out resulting in less sales.

Tell me, would you be playing RuneScape now if there was no F2P option to begin with? Nobody's going to buy membership for a game that they don't even know how to play yet.

No simply because the lack of new users would make the game slowly/quickly die.

A 'free trial' is not enough to get you into RS (or at least it wouldn't be for most people).

Additionally, if they reduced the amount of F2P servers what motivation does a new player have if every place they go is crowded with bots/other players?

    RS would not succeed.

    This.

Obviously, thats the reason they have f2p. They will never change that

jagex wouldnt remove f2p because that means less players which means less money for them

Nah, I like how you can still have fun with out paying. It would get rid of all of the bot infested worlds though as people are less likely to bot throwaway accounts if they are forced to pay for membership.

Well actually, they still make money from F2P players. You know those ads at the top of the page, yeah. Click those, you make them like a tenth of a penny.

    No F2P = Dead RS.

You can play in F2P even while your P2P, so it rounds down to you guys being too cheap to afford around 30 cents a day to pay for P2P?.....
