Using [TRUSTED] Tags

yeah, I use them occasionally :S

However, I have nearly 100 vouches, some staff, so I feel I have "trust".

I am currently seeing people with 3 vouches calling themselves trusted. I reckon there should be a vouch limit/rank needed before you can put trusted in your thread titles, as it will stop people thinking people are when they aren't.

I'm in support of not using them until you reach some number like 250+ Vouches, or get OMM/Staff.

As with most things if you report the post then a mod will look at it. It's sometimes annoying when people think there trusted because they did 3 trades.

However, we can use this to discuss what the minimum should be.

 

Trust is in the eye of the beholder. It varys from person to person, some people trust people alot easier then others, those im afraid will learn the hard way eventually.

 

What you're basically proposing is a new rank, which isn't allowed :S.

Just let people use them, it's ultimately up to the other person to deem weather or not someone is trusted, weather or not "Trusted" tags are up.

I support BANNING ANY NONSENSE IN THREAD TITLES PERIOD.

I don't care if you have 3 vouches or 300, it's annoying to look at a page of threads and you literally have to decipher what they are buying or selling because they have TRUSTED, QUICK, FAST, CHEAPEST, X VOUCHES, 07 MEMBER, $50 DONATOR, MOD, EX-MOD, and the list goes on.

I wish they just banned those words all together. The only thing you can have in a marketplace thread is the following:

-buying or selling
-item(s)
-price
-payment methods

That should be it.

So no support to your thread specifically, but I definitely support the removal of those words in ALL threads.

 

Highly Trusted is a rank earned and given to so few, I feel like using the [TRUSTED] tags really takes away from the work those members did to earn the Highly Trusted rank. Besides, 80% of the people who are using the [TRUSTED] tag joined yesterday.

 

Actually, i agree with this. I find it annoying that the whole entire title is filled with [TRUSTED][1M HANDLED][MOD] etc etc. If i remember, you were only allowed to have your payment method ~3 years ago.

 

Finn is trying to say these suggestions regarding thread titles are just not important enough to add to the staff's plate. They need to focus on issues that will help improve this site, not something you guys find 'annoying'.

 

I think the more important thing Finn was trying to say is that it is NOT the staff's job to decide who is trusted. It's up to you, the buyer, to decide if the seller you are presently trading is trusted. Making us censor people claiming they are trusted is essentially deciding for everybody that they are not trusted.

 

Finn summed up what I would say. Most users on Sythe aren't that dumb, users do in fact, look at the post count, vouches, join date and so on, so it's not a big deal if they put trusted in their title. People will find out that they either are trusted or that they are not trusted.
