Are all mods required to have a degree in psychology o.o

Ok i know this sounds like a stupid question but like forreal, sometimes i read through the high pardons just for fun. Its like watching court on tv and then my favorite part is seeing the mods responses.

Its crazy some of the stuff they can point out! Like Ill read it and go "yea i think this guys good and should comeback" and then theyre like "I can tell by the grammer your using that your nervous and by being nervous I can tell your lying about something, also back in 2005 you posted on a thread saying you like men which shows me you also lie because you just said you like women, therefore your a compulsive liar. Denied" and im like... oh shit... how do you notice that stuff? Do you all have degrees in psychology or something?

We got our positions for a reason. I personally will say that I don't dabble much in the dispute section, although I suppose I really should. I do however do a lot of background checking when I'm doing bans/scam reports, so I guess in a way it falls into the same category. You still come across the same stuff anyone handling a dispute would. It's just mostly common sense and a bit of intuition.

 

The mods work hard digging deep into people to prevent innocent users from being harmed. It's more effort and intuition than education. The job teaches the necessary skills needed.

 

Honestly going through one of Finn's posts usually requires a dictionary.

Though they don't require a degree in psychology, they require a bit of maturity. With maturity comes a large vocabulary. Also, people tend to be able to analyze more, which allows them to make the right decisions when reading and responding to disputes and high pardons.

 

It's all common sense lol. Not much psychology involved.

 

What a legend, honestly though i think Finn is one of the biggest asset's to sythe.

 

You don't need to be a psychologist, you just have to know how people think and be able to thing logically, that's all it takes. But if you fuck up being a mod, everyone will know and bash on it, so it's quite a responsibility.

aha this thread made me laugh, theres a few of the mods that i wouldn't doubt it, if they aren't something in the psychology field my second guess would be a lawyer. agreed with whoever said the thing about finn's posts.

 

It would be a very high demand to ask for that xDDD!
