    Can't remove virus

This keeps showing up every time I do a scan. It will tell me threads found 1/2. So I think it keeps telling me it removed one for me but not the other one. I have hit the "remove unhealed" and nothing happens. I can do a scan again and it keeps showing just these 2 files.

I looked to try to manually delete these files but I could not find them in the temp folder. I think I tried to have it show hidden files but not sure if I did it correctly, but it still was not there. I even tried using the del command in command prompt to delete the file and it could not be found, although every time I do a scam it says it is there.

I would like to remove this without having to do a system restore. Thanks for any help.

Are you sure it's not just a false-positive?
Try scanning directly onto the file, rather than just a full system.

EDIT: And yes, Malwarebytes is awesome.

    Can't remove virus

I scanned the /temp/ directory with Malwarebytes last night and nothing came up.

I mentioned before that I cannot find the file. What I find weird is that I accidentley ran the file by copying the location of the virus into my search on windows 7 and expected it to take me to the directory, but it flashed the program and something on CMD instead. Although if I try to use the del command on the same location that I entered to accidentally run the program it says not found.

Try running malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy in safe mode with networking. If that finds nothing, then it's probably a false detection.

I'll try that in a couple of minutes, if it does end up being a false positive is there any way to stop it from showing up on my daily scans? It would throw me off to consistently see a threat found on my daily scans.

If you can't find it manually through command prompt then It's most probably a false positive, you may not have any other choice BUT to do a system restore.

Yeah I tried that an I also downloaded and ran antivira and still nothing. It seems like avg is the only one detecting this. If it is a false positive does anyone know how to stop it from showing up anymore?

Try copying the path, and going into the AVG client, and going to 'Trusted Programs' and then type in the path?

Does AVG have that? I know Norton does.

Malwarebytes' primary use is for malware. Disregard everything posted on here because you'll need a proper anti-virus program. Avira, MSE (microsoft secury essentials), and avast are all good.

Scan with Kaspersky/Nod32, do System Restore.

    Can't remove virus

I recently tried Avira, however it is not finding anything. I am starting to think that it may just be AVG. I would like to find out if it is possible to know for sure and make it stop showing up in my results if it is actually a false positive. There is a bunch of things I have done and I really do not want to system restore.

If you can't fix this with any available software I recommend you take it to a local PC shop. They will be able to help you out and if your nice they might even do it for free.

I don't think I will take it to a PC shop, they usually charge and I don't trust them to do anything to my computer. I'll probably just let it be.

Temp folders are usually hidden, which is why you can't find it.
You need to show system folders before being able to find it manually.

Besides that, download hitmanpro and do a quick scan with it.
Just activate the trial after scanning.

You can add it as an exception and it won't be scanned or flagged anymore.

    Can't remove virus

Buying a new computer is not really an option considering I am completely content with my current one. I will be trying the most recent suggestions. As for the making it an exception in the AVG search does anyone know how I can do this in case it ends up being a false positive for sure?

    Can't remove virus

The worm wont affect your computer if it isn't set to run during startup. A simple thread isn't going to do anything. Nor can it even do anything. It's just stuck there because it is associated with a system file and your computer wont let you delete to protect you from corrupting your operating system.

If you are concerned reinstall your operating system.

Also go to run then type in msconfig.exe and run as administrator. See if anything out of the abnormal is running. I could probably check over teamviewer to see if anything is out of the ordinary.
