Writing Job

Hello,

I'm a 17-year-old high school student who is interested in writing. I've always wanted to write articles for a blog, specifically ones dealing with music or technology.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Good ways/places to find jobs, things I should know, etc.?

You need a portfolio to get noticed, somewhere where you can post your pieces and noticed.

 

Is your interest solely to make money? If not, there are many ways to get your writing out there without having to go through the whole professional process. If you're genuinely interested in writing as a hobby and would like some help setting up a legitimate blog and connecting with the right people, shoot me a private message.

 

Why don't you try building a portfolio and send it to magazine companies that are about music/technology?

 

There are a few freelancing sites where you can get jobs as a writer. Try out odesk.com.

 

Try scholastic writing competitions, they bring great attention, opportunities, advancement, and monetary gains as well.

 

If you want to devote some 10-15 minutes a day, I'd suggest checking out triond.com. You can easily pull in $100+ a month off of a few articles written.

 

You may even want to check out Craigslist to see if anyone is hiring writers.
