How do I make my computer run like new?

Been a few months and I seem to once my computer's performance has been slower, is there any way to make it as good as when I got it?

 

you could go through the trouble of backing it up, wiping the hard drive, and reinstalling your O.S and programs. This will make it run like new but it's a hassle.

 

Reformat your computer..

 

Disk cleanup and defrag.
Run virus and malware scans.
Get rid of unneeded programs.

 

Do you guys know any programs that would do all of that for me?

It also might be an idea to invest in an extra hard disk or external hardrive so that you have separate areas to store your media and work files.

 

If you purchased your computer from a store or online and it wasn't custom built, you probably have a factory restore option somewhere. Find it and love it.

 

Best few ways would be to re-install your os and clean the inside

 

Save the files you want on an external hard disk or other usb device.
Then just reinstall the OS and upon installation format your hard drives.

You can use CCleaner by Piriform, and Defraggler by Piriform, unless you wanna just use the defrag tool that comes with windows. Also, you can use the registry tool in CCleaner. Run a virus scan, delete any unused programs. Edit what programs run on startup with CCleaner.

Possibly disable the Boot GUI if you want a faster boot.

To run like brand new, reformat and re-install only the essentials.
