Whats you fav team? Red Sox (and I live in and am from Boston, so no I'm not a bandwagon fan :p)
Who is the best fielder in the MLB? Way too hard for me to judge tons of good fielders.
Best player in the MLB? Hitter: Adrian Gonzalez, and yes I would of said the same thing last year with him on the Padres. I think he currently has the best baseball IQ, he can take any pitcher deep, he's very intelligent, and studies the pitchers he is facing very well, and he even says he can describe to you the way any pitcher who has ever faced him handles him, and he uses that to his advantage. The man is an absolute beast with runners in scoring position. Pitcher: Felix Hernandez. This kid is only like 24 and if he lands on a team with a good or just decent offense, I think he could be one of the best pitchers ever. He reminds me a lot of Pedro Martinez, and I truly believe Pedro Martinez is the best Pitcher ever, he dominated the game of baseball in the heart and soul of the steroid era, 1998 - 2002. I think in his prime Pedro could outpitch anyone.

That is 100% bias. Pedro isn't close to the best pitcher ever, granted he had amazing stuff.
Felix Hernandez, I do agree with you though. He is the best pitcher in baseball.
Hitting, Gonzalez, I don't even know if he is in my top 10. As good as he is, 3 first basemen are better than him: Pujols, Votto, Cabrera.

Isn't even close? From the age of 26 to 32 Pedro Martinez absolutely dominated the game of baseball in the heart and soul of the steroid era in the American League East mind you!!! In 1999 he went 23 - 4 with 2.07 ERA with 313 Strike outs, and a .852 win percentage. That year he only walked 37 Batters, there's not a single pitcher right now currently playing that could probably match any of those numbers that year. That wasn't even arguably his best year, the following year he posted a 1.74 ERA while logging 217 innings, striking out 284 and walking 32. He gave up 128 Hits that season.... The man is a 3 Time Cy Young Winner, a 7 time All star, he was top 4 in cy young voting 4 times, not including the years that he won. His strikeouts per 9 innings pitched is 3rd all time, he's 13th in career strikeouts, hes 2nd in Career Adjusted ERA+. This man dominated in his prime again in the AL EAST in the heart and soul of the steroid era! If injury wasn't a problem and fatigue for pitching so early into his career this man would probably a 300+ Career winner, and Strike out leader.

As for Adrian Gonzalez not being in your Top 10? He currently leads all of baseball in RBI's with 60, hes top 10 in HR's with 13, Hes #1 with most Hits in AL. He's leading the AL in Batting Average, and 2nd in the MLB to Jose Reyes, he has yet to give up an error all year at first Base, hes top 3 at defense at 1st, the man lead all of baseball last year hitting more than .400 with runners in scoring posiition. He hit 40 Home Runs while playing in one of the worst hitters parks in baseball. This man is the best hitter in baseball, and I think hes proving it with the Red Sox right now. He is without a doubt in my opinion better than Cabrera. Votto and Pujols is very arguable. But I would take him over both of them because, A. He's younger than Pujols, and a few million cheaper, and B. He's much more consistent than Votto.

    1) Cliff Lee. He wouldn't have been the strikeout king, noone is taking that away from Mr. Ryan
    2) 1/3 of a year doesn't make him into the top 10 for doing that.
    A) He is only 2 years younger, and Pujols has out performed him every year
    B) You have no clue what you are talking about saying much more consistent. In the three years Votto has been up, he has been playing great ball. He won the MVP last year, and is hitting great, and making a case for the Gold Glove too.
Against Cabrera, you are taking his stats from this year that isn't finished saying he is better. Cabrera has had a much better career, 30 point higher batting average
Also hitting in a ballpark with a 310 foot right field fence inflates his numbers, much like playing in San Diego's pitcher friendly park hurt his.

    1. Your saying Cliff Lee would have done just as good as Pedro Martinez did? That is very laughable, Pedro Martinez had some of the best stuff that anyone has ever seen. No way can you compare Cliff Lee to Pedro Martinez. A. Cliff Lee is a left handed pitcher, and Pedro is right handed. Cliff Lee is a very good pitcher, don't get me wrong, but you compare the two in their primes, and Cliff Lee doesn't get to wipe off Pedro's shoes. Pedro Martinez was a very small guy but yet he still overpowered pitchers. He struck out the side in order in either the 98 or 99 all star game, that feat. alone tells you how great Pedro Martinez was. "Martínez struck out Barry Larkin, Larry Walker, and Sammy Sosa consecutively in the first inning." He than struck out Mark McGuire to start off the 2nd. 4 Straight K's in an all star game in the first 2 innings, the first pitcher to ever accomplish that feat. Pedro Martinez was overpowering, he overpowered multi players that would hit 40 + and 50 + Home Runs, Cliff Lee never got the chance to play in the AL East, and I don't think he would ever have done that good, even now.

    2. This season wasn't my only example of why Adrian Gonzalez was so great, he would hit 30+ Home Runs and 100+ Home Runs on a team with absolutely no protection around him, and one of the worst hitting parks in baseball. He got walked 119 in 2009 the most in the NL, and that year he still managed to hit 40 Home Runs and 119 RBI's, again playing in the NL West, with horrible hitting parks, and no protection around him in the lineup. He has only gotten the chance to play full time since 2007, and he has been just as consistent as any other player, including Pujols, Cabrera and Votto.

And I have no clue what I am talking about? Hmm... Lets take a look at Joey Votto's Career Numbers,

    2008 Age 24: .297 24 HRs 84 RBI's 59 BB 102 K's
    2009 Age 25: .322 25 HRs 84 RBI's 70 BB 106 K's
    2010 Age 26: .324 37 HRs 113 RBI's 91 BB 125 K's
    2011 Age 27: .339 8 HRs 39 RBI's 49 BB 50 K's

Now Lets see Adrians 2008 - 2011 Numbers?

    2008 Age 26: .279 36 HRs 119 RBI's 74 BB's 142 K's
    2009 Age 27: .277 40 HRs 90 RBI's 119 BB's 102 K's
    2010 Age 28: .298 31 HRs 102 RBI's 93 BB's 114 K's
    2011 Age 29: .338 13 HRs 60 RBI's 22 BB's 48 K's

Besides his Batting Average, Adrian Gonzalez has the clear advantage over the Joey Votto, and again Adrian Gonzalez hit in one of the worst if not the worst hitting park in Baseball, you can argue that Fenway will inflate his numbers, but AL East has very tough Lefties and some of the best young pitching in Baseball.

    1) I am not, you mentioned only walking 39 batters, I mentioned Cliff Lee. He has impeccable control.
2)Talking about lineup protection, you saw who has been hitting behind Votto the whole year right? Scott Rolen, hitting .240
    A) About the stats, you are missing the part about games played. 1st year he played 65 games to Gonzalez's full year. Also 2009 he missed 30 games and had better numbers imo. He won the MVP last year too, and was top 3 in every triple crown stat.
And I have no clue what I am talking about? Hmm... Lets take a look at Joey Votto's Career Numbers, I was saying this about consistency. He is a consistent 300 hitter, plus he plays a lot better defence than Gonzalez and won the MVP.

    B) Saying he is better than Pujols and Cabrera

    2008 Age 26: .279 36 HRs 119 RBI's 74 BB's 142 K's
    2009 Age 27: .277 40 HRs 90 RBI's 119 BB's 102 K's
    2010 Age 28: .298 31 HRs 102 RBI's 93 BB's 114 K's
    2011 Age 29: .338 13 HRs 60 RBI's 22 BB's 48 K's

    Cabrera)
    2008: .292 37 HRs 127 RBI's
    2009: .324 34 HRs 103 RBI's
    2010: .328 38 HRs 128 RBI's
    2011: .314 13 HRs 45 RBI's
He is a year younger than Gonzalez too.
    Pujols)
    2008: .357 37 HRs 116 RBI's
    2009: .327 47 HRs 135 RBI's
    2010: .312 42 HRs 118 RBI's
    2011: .274 14 HRs 40 RBI's
The best pitchers in the Al East are in the Red Sox's team, besides David Price

Love playing it, I watch it sparingly, but love going to games and watching it. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Football is really the only sport I can watch on TV.
