PS3 Help (Turns off)

I have had this PS3 for a while now, but recently I put it away in it's box in my closet since I didn't use it. Recently I pulled it out, plugged it in, and turned it on.


Oh, wait, it would come on, the fan would spin the entire time, but after about 30 seconds it would shut off, to SOLID RED LIGHT.

I repeat - SOLID, NO blinking, NO yellow.


So please do not ask if "it blinks" or had "yellow", cause it does not.


Anyway, does anybody know the REAL cause and a REAL fix? Remember - if this helps - box in my closet.

Mind saying what model it is? Slim? Old one? GB's etc

 

Oh my god i had the same exact problem. Ugh, I have to remember what i did to fix it.

Try these, although they might not work, i'll have to think of what i did.
-Get a can of dust remover and clean the inside.
-Rewire it, pull off all wires while the system is OFF, then plug it back in.
-Try holding the red button untill you hear the 3 beeps.
I'm honestly sorry if these did not help, just thinking of things at the top of my head. I know what you're going through, it's a pain >_<

 

try to restore it... hold the power button, It will auto turn off after the third "BEE". Leave the power button, hold it again till you heard the 2nd "BEE" than leave it. Restore your PS3, but everything on your ps3 will delete.

 

All of those I tried, nothing sadly, lol my PS3 is barely held together I am way to lazy to put the screws in again after taking it apart a 5th time.

Also, I hope you can remember how you fixed yours, if you do PLEASE post or PM me a link, or PM what you did, blah blah, it would be MUCH appreciated.

Tried that - though, all I got was "Cannot access HDD" and Error 8007xxx meaning cannot update (after I tried to update the system)



Side Note - Tried calling Sony, fuck that I couldn't get ahold of a Rep.

Also - PS3 is a 60gb OLD Model.

 

Don't know if restore means hard restore, but try that.

Post on the ps3 forums, people will be sure to help you. Don't email them though, the responses they give you are just retarded

 

How do you Hard restore though, if it is by using the SafeMoad, then it won't access my HDD either and stuff.

Already posted forums too, 3 hours+ and only one reply. A very dumb one at that. "Make sure the power cable is still plugged in."...>.<

 

Search it up on youtube, i'm not too sure. My brother did it.
