    Secure MSN

Hey guys. So I've noticed that a lot of Mods/Trusted/Well known Sythers are switching over to a carrier called @hush.com.

Is this provider safer or more secure than others like Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail? I have an @hotmail.com address, and I was thinking of creating a new email to clear out unwanted contacts and to get a more secure email (to prevent the possibility of any MSN hacks). Is @hush.com the way to go? I've also heard that Gmail is rather secure as well.

I'm not sure what methods hush as for secure, but my hotmail is pretty secure, 100% of phising links/spams instantly go to my junk folder.

I use my personal Email for sythe

Methods i use to keep my hotmail safe:
-Removed it from my sig, only comes via PM now.

    - I removed all contacts i add from non-personal stuff I.E gold buys/sales. After the trade is done, they get removed, So they can no longer veiw my personal information.

    Hope this helped ya :)

    From what I've heard:

The only way a @hush.com can get hacked is Key logged password or you told someone your password.

Unlike Msn , Yahoo , Gmail etc where there's the possibly of recovering via forgotten password via flaws in there systems etc

As far as I'm aware, the actual hush email domain can't be hacked unless you have a keylogger / tell someone your password.
But even using hush, your MSN can be hacked because you need to sign up for windows live.

You still need to sign up for windows live, so secure all your emails by doing this :

    - Setting up a very strong password.
    - Adding a recovery email.
    - Adding your telephone number.
    - Adding security questions (make sure noone can guess them).

MSN is not safe at all. There are many ways to be hacked. Ways are being keylogged, someone hacked your recovery e-mail, found out security questions, are they find out your personal contact details. The contact details can be used to recover MSN account. They call up hotmail and speak with them, and if they have enough personal info, account will be recovered. It is very gay, it had happened to some people on sythe.

Will be switching to @hush.com, soon.

From my point of view, hush.com is as unsafe to use as a windows live ID as @hotmail.com. The password still can be reset the same so you are able to take over the MSN the same but with hush.com, you are unable to view their emails. The best way to secure your live ID is to connect it to your PC using windows essential and connecting it to another email such as hush.com. There is no 100% way of securing your MSN address. I have a @hotmail.co.nz because it's not linked to my sythe account and if it was hacked, they would just view a bunch of spam emails. There is really not much point in changing to hush.com because it's not the email's problem.

idk if hush is safer, but few months ago everything i had was hacked, msn/rs/yt everything.
he sended spam to people, and now my msn is locked, which i cant recover.
i dont really care cause i didnt use msn anymore.
now coming to the point, i made a mail adress for doing sythe business, and only for that.
i was scammed by an imposter of YerYer which was selling upgrades, and he told me always ask for a pm.
so if u just use 1 msn for sythe, and none more it doesnt matter if it gets hacked.
theres no personal info on the account, and everyone you want to trade woth just ask for a pm.
so you can do business with the msn, and if it gets hacked dont worry, just tell people, let em know they need to pm u before trade, and care if its hacked?
no personal info set, thats how i think of it

Wait, so if you have an alternate email, why would you need to sign up for Live? To use the Messenger, I assume?

Thanks for the help, will be sure to set these.

I have seen in some discussions between mods and hacked users that they have requested them change from @hotmail or @live to Gmail/Hush. It seems like it is, in fact, a more secure system, as RsProd has said.

It's not at all any more secure than using a @hotmail address. The only difference is if they hack you then they can see your emails as well. If you don't use the email for emails, then it makes no difference at all. The unsecure thing is not the actual email, it's the live ID, hacking @hush.com live ID's is the exact same is hacking @hotmail.com live ID's.
