What a Player Moderator Recommendation looks like!

While cleaning up my laptop I stumbled upon a fairly recent player mod recommendation I found by a friend who sent it to me on AIM after he recommended my account for possible mod status.

What i've learned so far is that there is a thread within the player mod forums where you can now recommend players now, although you can still query them, they prefer the thread! =P

The only alternation i've done to the paragraph is highlight the questions in bold;,and remove my ingame name, otherwise it's been left untouched!

Thought i'd share this with you guys.

F-Mod/P-Mod?: P-Mod.

Strengths: I have been able to gather over several months that this player and loyal friend is a very decent, trusting person who has been loyal to this game for nearly ten whole years time. I *really* hope this recommendation stands out in your eyes so that you can see this player for who he truly is. He is very honest, has an outstanding and lasting record for keeping his account secure (has NEVER been hacked to my knowledge), open and willing, yet very trustworthy, and an excellent skiller. He has thoroughly maintained his faith to this game over all of these years, and I believe he most definitely deserves rightful recognition for it. Whether it be a player moderator crown or something else is in your hands and the choice is ultimately yours Jagex, but I know that this guy is quite simply a perfect candidate. He does not at all seem like the kind of player that would ever let the crown get to his head and change the way he acts ingame, but instead act himself. He doesn't let other people's beliefs sway him or take personal offense to drama or insults online.

Reason for Recommendation: (RSN Removed, sorry guys!). is a very down-to-earth player that is usually eager to converse with new players and get to know them. He shares many similar qualities to myself, and seeing as I've been picked, I hope that you will give him an equal opportunity and consider/examine him fairly. After sending several recommendations to you Jagex over time, I have realized that only a couple have been selected and invited (both also went on to become dual mods), so I trust that you will consider this player with the same blank slate and not in any way judge him by his personality on the surface, but instead by his true self-character. However you may accomplish this isn't very important, but I feel I must emphasize how greatly I think this player would be as a very valuable asset to the Player moderator team. (RSN Removed, sorry guys!). is not only a role model and a potential ambassador, but a friend.}

 

So did you get player mod status because of this recommendation?

 

Seems like a whole bump of kissing up to jagex to get him a mod position.

No, couldn't be concerned or worried about it. There already is a leak of the forum mod / player mod centers, so why join any of those teams?

If you got mod, it would sell for a shitton more of cash
But that is a nice find there. I've been recommended quiet a few times before, never got mod though.

On occasion there have been players that were recommended by other player mods that went on to become a mod, or a duel mod.

Honestly, jagex is as worse as the government trying to cover up secrets and lie to us.

If I remember correctly some people used to sell pmod recommendations, though it wasn't widely advertised.

Guess it must work to some extent at least, if there is/was a market for them.

 

So what are the chances of being player and forum mod? Are there recommendations for that?

 

Fmod = forum mod.

Someone has to take care of the RSOF.

 

I am a Player Moderator myself. Been a P-Mod for around 5 years with a lot of hard work put into it. To become one, you must be very helpful, kind, and honest. In addition, it is a plus point to know other player moderators, due to they can post in behalf of you in the P-Mod forums. RECOMMENDATION IS A PLUS POINT.

It is not all about kissing ass to Jagex. It is very very very hard to become one.

 

This is true.

Just because you get a recommendation does not guarantee you a spot in the moderator world.

It's the same when you are job hunting. If you know a friend @ there place of work and want to join them your friend may recommend you to there boss. You have to demonstrate how worthy you are to be considered for that position, only the best applicants will get called for a second interview.

You have to demonstrate to Jagex you are a community member. Attending forum based events. Behaving maturely without over reacting to certain situations, ..etc.

All in a nut shut; it's not worth it to become a moderator.

That is the reason Jagex probably doesn't take the P-Mod recommendations too seriously. Any random person could just be sold a recommendation and they really shouldn't be a mod in-game.

 

Very true there. It's just way too easy to write a recommendation that would even kill in the job market. In my opinion they get the recommendation then start looking at the accounts history and start monitoring it more than any "average joe" account to see if it's true or not.

 

It was interesting to read that recommendation. I have always been curious about the system, it sounds like it is very dependent on recommendations though. I saw determinate mention something about recommendation sales. I wonder how much those would go for... Nonetheless thanks for sharing, was quite interesting.
