Laptop's having trouble running multiple bots...

Just a quick question, been running 4 bots on 2 laptops each, recently, they've been freezing up and can't even handle 2 bots.

What can I do to free up memory or whatever it is that's prohibiting me from running these bots smoothly?

They used to be able to run 6-8 bots each smoothly...

I run rsbots.net on them (2-2 x 2...or two clients with two accounts logged in each on two laptops)

I have iBot sleep time set to 50, Client sleep time set to 100, and Paint sleep time set to 100, but I don't think that's the problem because I've never messed with them.

I know the RsBuddy client has a "Lower CPU usage" button. Does RsBots have one? I don't want to download it because of what has been happening between RsBots, PBots, etc.

 

I think he is talking about the Nexus client.

Move all the sliders all the way to the right, and is your laptop getting to hot while running?

 

Yeah overheating is an issue on one of them (6G Ram)

The other one I just bought a month ago strictly for botting and it's fans are fine, it ran 4 bots with ease when I first got it and now it freezes up once I try and load a second nexus client

 

Odd that you used to be able to run 6 - 8 and now you are having trouble. You may want to consider just cleaning up the computer if you are looking to use them solely for botting. Although you could also try setting the botting programs as a higher priority in the task manager. That should help them run better. As for the overheating problem, I have had this quite often before. I really only fixed it by putting the laptop in an elevated surface with holes and later investing in a laptop cooling fan for under my laptop.

another option, more work though, sell your laptops and build your own desktop. Im currently working on one with 32gb. Of ram and alloot of fans.

But if not id recomend this program called Tuneup Utilities, its amazing think thy have a free 15day trial. It'll remove stuff you don't use, and takes recommendations from you based on what you want, in this case performance so it will I believe adjust the display and some other stuff.
and also disable programs from running with your permission.

maybe they are getting too hot? Sometimes thats happens with laptops they over heat easy.

I'm a College Kid who goes to school outside of my hometown so I need laptops since I can't drag a desktop halfway across the country on an airplane

 

I would go and see what is running on your computer. You may have installed something that is set to run all the time. Also are you using one client as more than one uses more memory to run. Another problem you might have is that your internet is too slow? Are your bots loading a lot or lagging?

 

The more you set the global settings to the rights, the less cpu/ram it will use

 

I'll buy purchasing a laptop for botting uses only this coming week, thanks to feedback i've gotten on one of my threads.

Unless you'd like to be the guy as my local library who carries his desktop with him just to play WoW you could buy a desktop if you don't have room in your house.

Purchase a laptop cooler.

That, or unless you're comfortable, put your laptop outside at night xD

Yeah, but it lags the bot like no other and it ends up doing nothing lol

Don't need a laptop cooler, I have my laptop on a raised surface to overheating isn't that big of a problem anymore.

Might just bring it in to the geek squad and have them check it out, what do I tell them when I bring it in though? Would be kinda embarrassing to tell them I want them to check out why my computer can't run 4 runescape bots lol

I'm thinking along the lines of "Java heavy programs"? or is there another "geek" term I'm unfamiliar with?

 

What are your battery settings? I had a laptop that would lag Runescape after 30 mins of playing and I set the battery option to high performance and it doesn't lag now.

Answer to that is get an Alienware Gaming laptop. They are hell'a good laptops. I'm getting one within the next month.

If not, I suggest elevating your laptops to let better air circulation flow through the fans. Use something small that keeps it around
2 inches of the top of your desk / or where they are sitting.

Also- With settings to the left , which you think 'lags' the bot is the best - It DOESN'T lag the bot , it just looks like it is, however the bot is still functioning as per normal.
