I think it would be nice if all the Help/Support sections be moved out of Off-Topic, back to their own section (bring back Sythe.org Support!) "Community Support". Off-Topic seems really cluttered now and I think it was better when all the Help/Support sections were grouped together. One area for users to go specifically for help, one area for users to go specifically to help others.

As well as the Help/Support sections being merged together again I think it would be nice for all the guides (where possible) be moved back to one giant archive of guides as a sub-section of Community Support. A lot of guides still served some sort of purpose and use to users out there. They would be more easily accessible kept here.

Essentially it's the old Community Support section without the Community Assistants, application forums etc.

    Thoughts?

Edit, a revision of Karl's idea (New section rather than incorporated with OT):

    Code:
    Community Support
    - The Support Desk
    -- Personal Support
    -- Tech Support
    -- Homework Help
    -- Sythe.org Support
    -- Requests
    -- Guides

A new sectional could be appointed the same way Gohan was, for the same purpose: to help users specifically in these sections. He was promoted to a Personal Support mod because he was kind, dedicated, willing to help - which, if brought back, you'd assume would be the traits of a future Community Support mod as Personal Support is inclusive of the new section.

I support this. It would be nice to have a community support area where we can still help others, without the rank and application mess. Maybe incorporate the guides back in this section too?

I love this, the guides were great, especially your how to dunk guide, that was an A++ guide. I actually gave that to a couple of my friends at school who play b-ball

I agree that they should be introduced but it should Remain in the Off-topic section, since Community support having its own section would not have a sectional mod.

    So instead, I think it should be like This;
    Code:
    Off-topic
    -The Support Desk
    --Sythe.org Support
    --Personal Support
    --Tech Support
    --Financial(Maybe?) Support
--Other (Anything that does not fit in with the above.)

It being in Off-topic (which is pretty much the 2nd most popular forum section), will bring alot more views, instead of it being towards the bottom of the page, it means that there will be always be at least one moderator on the section, and generally it'd look good there.

That sounds good, but with the extra space/views wouldn't it be good to incorporate another mod there to help Wulf?

Off-topic is the section viewed by the most staff (IMO), so globals will help anyway.

I like the sections you've added and what not, but I still feel like the guides should come back, thus, the return of Community Support.

    Code:
    Community Support
    - The Support Desk
    -- Personal Support
    -- Tech Support
    -- Homework Help
    -- Sythe.org Support
    -- Requests
    -- Guides

    How does that look?

As for someone moderating the section, I think there's enough moderator manpower with 9 globals, maybe one can be assigned to that section (?).

I agree with Karl, being in off-topic would help with the views, but it's missing the guides.

I edited in a spin of his idea in to the original post.

    Any thoughts from an Admin?

I support the return of sythe.org support. I felt a lot of people had their questions answered there, and I enjoyed browsing it and helping out on occasion. Unsure as to the proposal of the whole new category though, although I think it could work.

Or give off topic mods perms in that section.

That could work, sort of like when Gohan was Personal Support mod, the new sectional could be promoted based off the same reasons Gohan was; kind, considerate, dedicated to helping etc.

Good idea. I'd rather see the Support Desk have their own section. I mean, somehow Off-Topic doesn't really appeal to ask for support in, as the Off-Topic section makes me think of spam-related stuff rather than serious stuff (not saying this is actually the case, it's just the general idea I have about Off-Topic sections). Off-Topic merely scares me away rather than wanting to post serious stuff in.

An entirely new section, however, that covers everything support related, would be a place I'd feel comfortable posting in somehow. Off Topic mods could be given perks over the support section, or a new Personal Support mod could be assigned.

If a new section would be too hard to realise, I'm still supporting the other idea. Should be a great addition to improve the community.

one of the reasons why CS was removed because it was lacking proper activity, bring it in to off-topic and it'll get alot more views and posts, and better moderation.

That makes sense, I guess. I suppose I just feel like it would be better organized group together, with your new suggested sections, guides brought back (is it possible?) and a new moderator (essentially Head Community Support).
